Carrollton, Griffin, Sandy Creek

Posted: 10/4/2013 12:55 PM

Carrollton, Griffin, Sandy Creek

Have anyone seen all three teams play and can compare them. I've seen Sandy Creek and Griffin and in my opinion Griffin is the better team of the 2. Griffin is loaded!!!!! The Creek is good but griffin has far more weapons and a better defense. After watching them last week against Stockbridge it's hard to see another team being better than Griffin. That's Just my Opinion. My Opinion is based on Sandy Creeks Vs Plant game and Griffin vs Stockbridge. Griffin is Solid!! I'm waiting to see Carrollton play the Creek. It sounds like Carrollton is solid too. Has anyone seen all three or seen 2 of the 3? I would like to hear other opinions.

Re: Carrollton, Griffin, Sandy Creek

I have been very critical of Sandy Creek all season especially on defense, but I am not ready to say that there is anybody in AAAA besides Carrollton that could beat them. If you saw Creek play Plant, you saw a team much better than anybody Griffin has played this year. Creek turned the ball over 4 times, 2 leading to touchdowns in the Plant game. They have given too many points and have had defensive breakdowns; however, they have also played two very good AAAAAA schools after playing Plant. Griffin had a very good win against Stockbridge, but Stockbridge could not play with Plant, or Newnan, or East Coweta.

Griffin may have lots of weapons, but I don't know how  you have more weapons on offense than Sandy Creek. Unless maybe their O-line runs the ball and catches passes too.

Re: Carrollton, Griffin, Sandy Creek

Upon looking at the playoff brackets, it appears that region 4 and 5 winners would meet in the quarter finals or 3rd round of the playoffs. That means the winner of the SC/Carrollton game would likely play Griffin in round 3. While neither team will want to lose November 1. The Sandy Creek/Carrolton loser may have an easier road to the dome come playoff time. That said, my thought that SC and Carrolton play twice this year has not changed.

Re: Carrollton, Griffin, Sandy Creek

I'm sure The Creek is a lot better now. I've only seen both teams once and based off what I saw Griffin is better. Stockbridge is not a slouch they looked fast too. Now that could have been Griffins Best performance of the year and the Creeks worst performance Based on those 2 games It seemed to me that Griffin is better. That's why I wanted other opinions.

It may be hard to believe but Griffin definitely have more weapons than Sandy Creek on Offense. I was highly impressed.

Re: Carrollton, Griffin, Sandy Creek

LOL yall talk like Creek has lost a game, and the teams they have played were of slouch quality annnndddd They are STILL THE 4A CHAMPS so to be the CHAMPS you gotta beat the CHAMPS now im not saying it may be some improvement needed in some places but they still have a lot of the same players that were on the CHAMPIONSHIP team from last year!!! NOW of the teams that yall are claiming to be better than Creek, have they played anybody of the caliber or quality of the teams they have already??....... You cant expect a shut out every time you play this game and you wont get a DOMINANT performance everytime but one thing that YALL forget these boys are CHMAPIONS minus the Freshmen!!...... come on don't FORGET they are COACHED  by a MULTIPLE CHAMPIONSHIP STAFF!!

I watched Carrollton vs. Calhoun on streaming. I have seen every Sandy Creek game live. I have only seen Griffin's scores and game descriptions. Right now, Carrollton is the best.

Wow to say your offense is better than Creek?

You should be ranked higher but maybe the coaches polls know otherwise.

Re: Carrollton, Griffin, Sandy Creek

I have to disagree with the offensive weapons statement. Wideouts #'s 8,12,15 and 16 and both running backs from Sandy Creek are D1 level talent as is the QB so Griffin can't out talent SC at those positions. On an earlier post I mentioned that if Creek doesn't play Carrollton in the dome, I'd love for it to be Griffin, so please don't think I'm putting them down, I just don't think there is an offense in the state with more talent this year than SC's. Our defense can lose  a game for us, but Griffin has not played nor will they play a team as good as Sandy Creek or Carrollton all season so your defense has yet to be tested. Looking at the teams Stockbridge has beaten doesn't declare them as elite competition, but simply undefeated against lesser opponents. Personally, I believe Carrollton is the top of the class because they are a disciplined machine this year and I'd be shocked if Sandy Creek beats them at Grisham stadium. Monroe Area doesn't have a tough game on their schedule, but they have some serious talent too, so don't omit them from the discussion because they will make a lot of noise this year come playoff time.

I believe Griffin is good. I believe SC has the best talent on offense. I dont think Stockbridge has enough offense to stay within 21 points of Carrollton or SC. Still think we and the Pats are the best. Think Calhoun would beat Stockbridge. Plant would too

Damn, Hate to have to agree on this minus the shocked part @ Carrollton.  I still think we have a shot at winning but it will take a better effort than we have seen.  Here's to hoping we see the improvement we want starting tonight vs Troup.

Just so people know FDC isn't sandbagging he said last year he thought Carrollton would be the favorite to win state. And I'm talking about before the 2012 season started. He knows how to spot a potentially great team

Sounds like Carrollton might be the team to beat in AAAA, but The Creek will have a lot to say about who wins it...... Gotta stay with my Bears though........

I guess you saw the game last night.  That's how you have more weapons than Sandy Creek.
