People actually like this form of racing?

I was at Martinsville last week and that place always puts on excellent racing. I was falling asleep watching this garbage this week.

I sort of hope it was a mini protest by the drivers.

By putting a stop to the 2 car break aways they put everybody back in a pack together and nothing good ever comes from that.

I usually like Talladega, but not this crap today with all the follow the leader junk and then the packs with no breakaways. The Carl Edwards incident in the spring scared NASCAR so much that they put all of the cars in a pack and it leads to two more cars turning over... what kind of sense does that make?

RE: Talladega

Most of the time I find Talladega exciting. But I realize it is as much to do with luck as to who wins as anything. Even Dale Sr. said that a lot of his plate wins just came from happening to choose the right line at the right time. None of the drivers like this form of racing. Dale Jr. doesn't like it anymore now that he doesn't win there and is on the other end of the type of racing. I wish they could find a way to keep the cars from going up in the air that way they could take the plates off all together. That would be some incredible racing. But that won't happen. I think they just need to let the speeds increase up to 210-215 MPH  but first they got to keep them on the ground. Won't happen though so why waste the time thinking about it.

knock down the banking on one end, put a left, right mini turn on the back stretch, then get rid of the plates. can't be any worse than the crap at daytona and dega now.
until car ends up in the stands or a driver is killed, i don't see nascar doing any real change though.

RE: Talladega

right about now, nascar is under a lot of scrutiny. from the no bump drafting rule (which made yesterday's race boring) to Larry Mac and others ripping them, they need to undergo some changes this offseason.

Mike McCarthy must go!

RE: Talladega

the big changes they need to make, they were too afraid. the schedule needs cut down big time. totally change the schedule dates also.
two tracks each year cost teams multi-millions to produce just restrictor plate motors, that is ludicrous for four races.
those are just a couple of changes they don't have the sack to commit to.
