Coach PW "Bear" Underwood passed away this morning. He was a great man and will be missed.

He will be missed.  A tough, hard nosed coach who had a great heart and a big love for Southern Miss.  Nearly every story when former players get together involves PW in some form or fashion. 

My dad was a football player for Brookhaven High and was in Hattiesburg for a camp right before Hurricane Camille hit.  Coach Underwood gave him a place to stay during and after the storm.  One of many examples of the way he always was helping people.
