Any word on Roberts Stadium's new turf?

Any word on Roberts Stadium's new turf?

I wonder if there has been any news about changing the turf out at Carlisle/Faulkner Field at M. M. Roberts Stadium? The current surface, which has been in place since 2004, survived Hurricane Katrina the following season but it has had drainage problems in recent years.

Either USM should get a new turf surface or do like Southeastern Louisiana's football program did, and get the artificial surface from the Louisiana Superdome.  The turf the Saints played on in 2011 was sent to Strawberry Stadium in Hammond and installed there.  I believe the Saints change their turf every year, and with the right drainage system, it or a brand-new surface would be better than the current one.  Heck, even grass would be better.

If there are any updates, let me know.

I heard we were going to buy turf from an NFL team, probably the Saints, but I haven't actually seen it happen.

We found the money to get a new track and those things are high. We should be able to at least get a used field at this point.

Definately don't need to go back to grass... half the time it would just be a mud pit.

We definitely need it. Whether or not we get it is another story. Money just isn't there right now.

Someone at Southern Miss needs to get this mess straightened out.  Outdated facilities, poor turf, having to pay $2.1 Million in the Ellis Johnson fiasco.  USM needs both a new president and a new AD.  With the athletic facilities on campus the way they are and the money not being there, you're lucky to be in Conference USA.  If this keeps up, USM may have to go to the Sun Belt or FCS.  Things need to shape up and the sooner the better.

There's always going to be issues and such within athletic departments.  That's just how it goes.  Doesn't matter who is the the AD or whatever, there will always be something arise that needs to be handled.  It just takes time, especially when you're not big **** ballin' like Alabama or Notre Dame.
