Kermit

Kermit

Was lucky to have the schedule line up with a trip back home this year. Was good to catch a couple of games particularly to be there to see us beat the little commodores.

I have to admit that I was wrong about Kermit. After all those years of average ball he has proven me wrong and I'm sure many others about his ability to build a winner here. Obviously, next season will be his toughest challenge to show he can maintain this with such experience departing, but the talent, the tenacity, hustle, character, etc. that his team has displayed over the past few years is proof the program has turned the corner. He's always been a good X's and O's coach, but I have always doubted his ability to recruit and put together a team with chemistry.

He has done all those things, and I hope he continues to do so. This is one time I don't mind being wrong. Cheers!

RE: Kermit

I know we had been mediocre for a while with Kermit, but i wonder what changed to get last years team and so far, this years team. Why are these years different? I love this team, and last year was amazing (made me a believer).

[Insert something here]

I don't mean to deviate from the topic but how do you think we will fair next year?  We will lose 6 seniors - Massey, MKnight, Cintron, Jones, Gallman, and Sulton.  Any word on transfers coming in next year?    Do you think our Juniors and So. will step up and produce?

This. We have hit the JC lottery lately. We still haven't been to the NCAA yet. I am happy but I since CKD took 9 years to have a good team lets see what happens this year and next.

Re: Kermit

I think Kermit has really grown as a coach. I still feel like he has a quick trigger at times but the players seem to have a good relationship with him and a great relationship with each other. A couple of them will fire back at him which I like, they are not afraid of him anymore. He has gained their respect which I don't think was there 3-4 years ago. Yes, we have a lot of seniors but with the success the last couple of years our recruiting has taken a huge jump so we should be able OK.

I think Kermit has surrounded himself with better assistant. Monte Towe is a "name" and seems to remain "calm" and has been an HC before, Win Case was a national championship coach at a lower level, and I hear Grensing (sp?) is a helluva recruiter and X and O man.
