For those of you in the Bowling Green area and North, you can also listen to the game at the WNSR sister station out of Drakesboro, Ky, FM 103.9.

We listened to the MT football postgame there in BG and it came in loud & clear.

What happened to The Duck ?

MTSU's Kerry Hammonds and Bruce Massey celebrate beating Ole Miss.

Midstate madness

MT students rushed the Murphy Center court when the Blue Raiders pulled out a 65-62 win over Belmont exactly one year ago today. Belmont coach Rick Byrd called the on-court celebration a compliment to his program.

That was embarassing... But I noticed there was no court rushing after knocking off an undefeated SEC school last Saturday and that made me very happy.

We are shooting about 33%, Belmont close to 50%. So we are down by 4 at the half. Shoot better, we win.

Pretty frustration first half as it felt, until the last few minutes, that we outplayed them. It's tough to win only shooting 33%, though.

Immediate things to take away from that game...they have a strong RPI and are a good team that will win a lot of games. We played really good D most of the game. If we hit our normal shots and play offense like normal we win that game. It is a tough loss to swallow because I hate Belmont but not as bad of a loss as we might think. Don't knee jerk react at this one.

Yeah, I'm not too worried with this loss; we had a very cold shooting night (28.6%).

That's my reaction, too. Unfortunately, many of our missed shots were right at the rim. That's not the only reason we lost, though. There was absolutely no energy for the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half and that is inexcusable.

I'm sorry, but we should never lose to Belmont in any sport at any time.

Winner. Boy, if this wasn't a Kermit Davis blast from the past I don't know what was. Yeah, we didn't hit layups, but good god we were outcoached in the second half. They tore us up.

Rick Byrd flat out owns Kermit and it sucks. We should never lose to them in anything and this is no exception.

Never seen us force Bruce Massey and Torin Walker to take so many shots. We could build a house with all of those bricks. It's not a mystery as to why we shot so bad - it's who shot the ball.

But no, let's take JT and Marcos out because they make one mistake.

Team showed no motivation.... Especially from about the 15 minute mark in the 1st half. We played 5 on 8 for about 10 minutes too.
