FL and Sugar Bowl

Has only sold 7000 tickets. Times are bad.

Amazing to think about expectations, I bet we would take 20+k to that game. When UF feels they should only be in the national championship game and therefore only selling 7000 so far.

Most of the bowl games are now poorly attended.   The BCS is destroying college football.   The only bowl game I have noticed that sold out was the Rose bowl.

The Orange Bowl announced like 73k meaning only 4k empty seats.  I heard it was more like 55-60k

From what it looked like on TV in the first half I'd say 55k is about right.

Could the New Orleans Bowl put more butts in seats than the Sugar Bowl? Doubt it but funny that it would even be considered a remote possibility.

You know UF will have more then 7k.  I would assume most of their fans know by now that you can get cheeper tickets thru secondary markets.

Most allotment tickets were sold through Ole Miss and Vandy. Both sold 1.5 to 2 times their official allotment.

Good job on the part of those two.

(this of course is not counting 'Bama who could sell 100,000 tickets to a BCS title game vs. ND if they could get that many)

ND and Bama could sell out a 200k seat stadium.

There were large empty sections in the upper deck...55K is pretty accurate.

Middle Tennessee Gator here... a TON of Florida's fans/boosters/people.. whatever you wanna call them did not/are not/will not buy tickets through the school due to the fact that their allotment of tickets was from the 20 wrapped around behind the endzone. Many of them are saying that if they are going to miss work, travel, pay for hotel, they are gonna get a better ticket, at a cheaper price, through StubHub, etc..

With that being said however, all the Florida beat writers have said New Orleans has been heavily tinted the red the past few nights..

That is what I figured. The BCS games give the good seats to sponsors.
