OT: Walden INT

'Bout dem Titans ?

Was glad to see Walden get the pick, even though I was pulling for the Titans.

Hope that doesn't make me like the UT fans that pull for the Colts/Broncos

Not even close, I am hoping he gets paid. "Walden indoor facility" has a nice ring to it.

This x10. I need to hit him up for Blue Raider Radio at some point ...

Also, I had Aaron Rodgers in my Fantasy Football final. As much as I hated to see the absolute beatdown, having all of his accomplishments rack up points toward my victory eased the sting slightly.

Does anybody know what kind of contract Walden even has? Is he getting paid bank or is it some sort of minimum payment for an NFL player?

He signed a 1 yr deal 725k. Should get paid this offseason.

I'd be surprised if the Packers don't retain him, but even if they do, I'll be surprised if he gets more than like $3.5 million a year. Don't get me wrong, that's nothing to sneeze at, but it's far from big money(in NFL terms). Walden came into the league the same year Curtis Lofton did, when Lofton went to the Saints(from the Falcons) this past offseason he had 492 tackles in four seasons, Walden currently has 154 after five seasons. Walden's sack numbers are a little better, but I'm not sure it will be enough to put him over Lofton. Lofton's deal in New Orleans was 5 years for $27.5 million. I expect Walden to get a deal somewhere in the neighborhood of 3/$10 million or 4/$15 million at best. While again, far from chump change, probably not quite enough for him to be the major donor in an indoor practice facility.

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders
Atlanta Braves
Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Hawks
Georgia Bulldogs
USA Soccer
