I would be torn if ECU was still going to be a C-USA member. As it stands, go Cajuns.

Yep. Don't care. I'm cheering against the Sunbelt. Making the move and really over the SBC. Cajuns will spend their time every year if eligible in the NO Bowl.

Re: NO Bowl

Congrats to the Cajuns.

MT and Cajuns fans are probably the tightest in the Belt, so I rooted for them.

I, personally, don't hold the entire school liable for their radio man's comments about Massaro.

RE: NO Bowl

ULL fans are the best in the SBC by far!. Over 50,000 people at that game! ULL brought well over 40k themselves. They stepped up and brought a SEC level crowd to that game.

Terrence Broadway is the real deal. A Sophomore that has the poise of a Senior. How Hudspeth hasn't already been poached by a bigger school is an absolute mystery to me. Congrats to the Peppers

And a 8-4 CUSA team doesn't sit at home. Glad we are moving.

Yep, they have a great fan base; I'd like to go to one of their home games one day since I've heard they have an impressive tailgating scene.

Actually, I'm not that impressed.  Cmon..in their own state...and New Orleans no less?  Not that big of a feat.

They've averaged decent (home) attendance the last two years.

Give them any other bowl and you'd see a much different turn out.

So you think we would have brought 40k to memphis or even Nashville? We couldn't bring more than 30k for an ACC team in September on a warm afternoon. For a SBC to bring that many to a bowl game is very impressive. Name another SBC team that's done it? ASU would have brought a lot to Memphis but no more than maybe 25k. That's a lot less than 40k.

ULM is playing an hour away and they aren't bringing a fraction of that.

RE: NO Bowl

Our football is in a state of stagnation.  If we had the consecutive years of success, I have no doubt that we could bring a ton of fans equal to the amount of Louisiana-Lafayette to Nashville or Memphis.  The problem is that we need a coach who can win more than he loses (current coach does not), stop dropping home openers, and win the games that build momentum.

If New Orleans was located where Cookeville TN is....no doubt we could bring 40k.

RE: NO Bowl

1st of all I don't think they had 40k. 50k tickets were sold so I doubt they sold 40k. They did have a great crowd. Look at Vandy, they have maybe 25k on a good day at home but will have around 50k rooting for them in their bowl. If we were playing in Nashville many MT alums that have never been to a game would come because it is a bowl game and it is an event. We could probably have 40k rooting for us.

UofL will benefit greatly from that game, many that were there probably are LSU fans but now will probably attend a couple of UofL games now.

Just like our hoops game the other night. We probably got a lot of fans buying in now.

I'll call BS on that since we never brought over 30k to a home game let alone more than 10k anywhere else. Sheesh. ULL has had over 30k at their house several times over the years.

It was said on the broadcast that they sold over 50k tickets to the game and 90% of the people that were there were ULL fans. If they didn't have 40k fans there, it was dang close. ECU didn't travel well at all.

Don't know why people are arguing over this. They had the best crowd ever at that bowl game in it's 11 year history. We would kill for a turnout like that. Hell, we'd kill to even be in a bowl game at this point.

RE: NO Bowl

Announced attendance was 48k and change. Locals always buy at least 10-15k. Up until last year we have alway outdrawn ULL. We have more Alumni in Nashville Then any other School. We could easily bring 30 to 40,000.

RE: NO Bowl

Freinds- I was at the dome and at least 45000 were Cajun fans and others were ECU or locals . We sold over 23000 just at our school . If we go to any bowl in driving distance we bring the fans. Shreveport, Mobile , Houston  we would have at least 15,000 or 20000 sold . When I filled out my request I had five picks and Dallas was the furthest. Of course we may never know till we go, but New Orlenas can not be beat for the atmosphere and indoor seating. There is a reason so many Superbowls are held there. Our fan bases have always gotten along so surprised some would want us to lose and other Belt teams lose.

I would prefer to be in another conference but will pull for  all belt teams and if we win all four I guess the belt will  still be called  a bad conference. I know this year they were better than cusa

one thing CUSA  officials there  had to be impressed with  the Cajun turnout and play.

Good Luck next year and in the future.
