Catholic 7 splitting done deal
CBS Sports reporting they are splitting from the football playing schools. How does this affect CUSA?

RE: Catholic 7 splitting done deal
I was really hoping we could host schools like Southern Miss, Marshall, Tulsa but if the new conference is started then CUSA could be poached.

Re: Catholic 7 splitting done deal
I was about to post this....the fallout could be massive. Its just so hard to tell whats going to happen from here. It going without saying but MT could really benifit here or we could fall off the earth with about 30 or so other teams.

Re: Catholic 7 splitting done deal
There is much discussion on what MT will do or what will happen to MT, conference-wise, on our premium boards, by the way.
Lots of insider knowledge and ongoing discussion for quite some time now (on this topic).

RE: Catholic 7 splitting done deal
Didn't really state any opinions just reporting what news CBS website was saying.

Why will there be no changes until 14? Are you saying nothing until after '14 or could the 14 season be different? --------------------------------------------- --- MTowho wrote: mtstudent wrote: I was really hoping we could host schools like Southern Miss, Marshall, Tulsa but if the new conference is started then CUSA could be poached. Re: Catholic 7 splitting done deal
Worst case scenario - I think we end up in a buffed up version of the Sunbelt with CUSA branding.
If CUSA gets poached, they will make phone calls to the top of the SBC again (WKU, ULL, ASU).

Re: Catholic 7 splitting done deal
So we will end up in a polished turd aka conference USA that looks like this:
MT FAU FIU NT UAB USM WKU ULL stAte GA state UNCC Marshall LA tech UTSA
This is just my guess --------------------------------------------- --- RaiderDoug wrote:

BlueHillbilly wrote: Would Coosa take an APR-exempt school like stAte ? If another round of call ups happens, they might not have a choice. Then again, stAte offers little when it comes to TV revenue, so I imagine that's a bigger knock against them than anything else. Also - there's a joke about Jonesboro and APR exemption here somewhere ... I just can't quite put my finger on it.

RE: Catholic 7 splitting done deal
I would imagine WKU, Texas State, and South Alabama would be ahead of the Cajuns and stAte. Howl yeah.
