Wow. That's surprising based on his report from just a day or so ago. He was pretty convinced that Malzahn wasn't going anywhere.

So much for stAte being the cream of the crop when it comes to the Belt. No more Aplin. No more Malzahn.

RE: Malzhan

Aplin graduating is reason enough to get off the stAte bandwagon.

RE: Malzhan Post Rating (2 votes)

ASU's message board is in full melt down!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That turned my frown upside down right there. I called it right down the line this time a week ago. I said that Malzahn would be packing his bags to get the hell out of spitoonville and that we may be in another conference next week. This was right after Tulane and ECU said they were joining the Big Least. Dang! I was double right and couldn't be happier.

They will be depleted next year and Malzahn knew it. His stock would have never been higher than it is at this point. Enjoy that bowl game fellas. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

He went from being an honorable visionary to a filthy liar in just one week. ArkstFan was wrong again.

If I'm the AD at stAte I'm calling Mark Helfrich, OC at Oregon.

RE: Malzhan

As an Auburn fan, I'm happy with Gus coming back. I think Gus will be a good fit to the program, and I hope he finds coordinators that will run the fast paced offense he was known for when he was the AU OC.I also hope stAte's talent dries up with his leaving, and this isn't a reaction to the 45-0 loss....this is a reaction to having lived in Jonesboro.

There are two teams I care deeply about. #1 - My MTSU Blue Raiders. #2 - My Auburn Tigers. When it's gameday for either team, it's a happy day for me.

RE: Malzhan

It's gonna have to be a rebuilding deal as well. ASU loses...

Galindo, Kevin OL
Holmes, Tausean DB
Jackson, Shervarius DE
Jarboe, Josh WR
Jones, Don DB
Kincy, Anthony H-BACK
Muse, Allen WR
Nelms, Nick LB
Scales, Chaz DB
Victorian, Jonathan DB
Wright, Ronnell DL
Allen, Eric OL
Aplin, Ryan QB
Green, Julian DE
Herrold, Nathan LB
Lorigan, Cole DB
McKnight, Zack OL
Murry, Kedric TE
Prater, Cody TE
Smith, Andre H-BACK
Starson, Timothy DE
Stockemer, Taylor WR
Sullivent, Neely P

That's like 23 players and more than 60% of them are starters and key pieces of that team.

Um...the only thing I've found on Helfrich's salary puts it at around $400k currently, which stAte could increase, if not double.

He probably will be their next HC, if Kelly leaves this year. It certainly wouldn't hurt to attempt to make inroads now, in case Kelly doesn't leave.

That's the only one that would scare me outta town. It's very safe to say they were a great team this year more because of their returning players from a great team than they were because of Malzahn.

I figured Jarboe would finish out playing for another Sun Belt school or two before it was all over.
