Middle Tennessee marketing on the move
I just got an automated call from Coach Stock that I'm guessing is being sent out to anybody who ever put their number down on a sign up sheet. In the recording, he said that the Blue Raiders are in the hunt for a bowl after Saturday's win over South Alabama and that the team needs as much support as they can possibly get this weekend against Troy.
I realize this is a small thing, but for those of you who complain about MT marketing not doing their job ... BOOM.
Is anything else happening around Murfreesboro to draw people in?

RE: Middle Tennessee marketing on the move
As far as I'm concerned, we should be giving tickets away to get people to come on Saturday.

$8 for a football ticket that gets you into the basketball game is as close to giving tickets away as I ever want our program to get.

Give it away, go to all the local schools and give tickets to all the kids. Most people will be sitting at home eating or shopping. Go to walmart and kroger and do the same thing, give them away. Fill the stadium.

MT Marketing doing a great job.
Now we need the city of Murfreesboro and the county of Rutherford to follow suit.
Chamber of Commerce too.
It can be done. Look at Jonesboogie.

RE: Middle Tennessee marketing on the move
Okay, now that Marketing has started to get stuff together, we need people to show up. I said it before and I'll say it again - anything less than 20k will be a disappointment. When's the last time we had 20k+ for a Senior Day game?
2011: 10,227 (FIU) 2010: 10,140 (FAU) 2009: 19,111 (stAte) 2008: 14,307 (UNT) 2007: 19,227 (UL) 2006: 17,812 (Troy) 2005: 11,654 (ULM) 2004: 10,011 (ULM) 2003: 4,311 (UL) 2002: 3,418 (USU) 2001: 13,017 (UConn)
After research, the answer is NEVER in the FBS era! It's time to change that. The closest we got was in 2007, with 19,227 against Louisiana.

After research, the answer is NEVER in the FBS era! It's time to change that. The closest we got was in 2009, with 19,111 against Arkansas State. Its not going to happen. There isn't any proof in the history of our program that all of a sudden we are going to trigger a big crowd this late in the year. I think 15K is a better target. There is no amount of marketing this late that is going to change this. A better bet would be the BRAA having a mini drive this week. Basically working the phones and getting commitments from individual fans to show up and bring someone new. This will never happen because its HARD work. Grass roots is the only way until we win consistently at home when it matters.

Massaro just tweeted that Liberty Bowl officials will be in town for the game. Too bad they'll probably be underwhelmed after what they saw in Jonesboro.

Most of my friends will be away, and family has other things going on. Anyone mind adopting this fan Saturday?

I hope this all pays off. At least we should have a good crowd for the basketball game. Maybe they'll have to pull the bleachers for this one.

8500 for Football 3800 for basketball
We win both games inspite of poor crowds.
