That'd be a fun game, but I want to see MTSU travel....(I want to see Vandy travel as well, but if they and MTSU were to play each other in a bowl, then screw them, I'll take Middle.)
---------------------------------
There are two teams I care deeply about. #1 - My MTSU Blue Raiders. #2 - My Auburn Tigers. When it's gameday for either team, it's a happy day for me.

Someone else mentioned this to me at work today, too.

I agree with one of their posters that there is little to no chance of that happening. Vandy could go because they would be contractually bound to that bowl by the SEC agreement. The MCB would not like that to begin with due to lack of hotel rooms sold. They sure as hell would not take two local teams as there would be zero outside revenue coming into the city save game day.

The bowl exists to bring butts in from outside the area.
Go Blue Raiders!

So put us in the Liberty Bowl and ASU in the Music City Bowl. Boom. There you go. ULL can have the New Orleans Bowl. This has been the most fun bowl scenario season to date.

Meh. I'd still rather do New Orleans ... and I don't even like the city of New Orleans, but it beats the pants off of Memphis.

As I've said a couple of times the liberty bowl isn't not going to select us...I can't tell you why I know that but it is a reliable source

Does this "reliable source" think that the Liberty will take ANY SBC team (namely stAte) if faced with vacancies?

I'm not sure how many Arkansas State fans would stay in Memphis for that one. Isn't it just an hour and a half drive?

45 minute drive from Jonesboogie, or at least under an hour

And they landed on their radar when they knocked their socks off, winning in front of a huge crowd agaist a hot WKU team. That's why you gotta strike while the iron is hot! If we have a good showing this weekend and take care of Troy, bring a strong contingent with us to Jonesboro and knock the socks off of ASU... ahh nevermind. Just play the games the best we can and see what happens!

I want as high a profile bowl game for us as possible, against a team we match up well against and can beat. Winning a bowl game this year and getting off to a hot start next year could make a huge difference in our conference situation and it's our turn to strike while the iron is hot for once. Right???!!!

Here is the deal, it is more then likely going to be MSU or Vandy.  Gator will get first shot and they will pick MSU.  Vandy is playing in Nashville.  What MCB will then have to decide is if they want to sell tickets by picking us or sell 100 hotel rooms by picking SJST or Toledo.  I would argue that we would have more hotel rooms then either of those teams.

I don't think there is going to be enough bowl teams and the highest APR team then gets picked which would be Wake I think.  If that is the case then Wake would come to Nashville and since Vandy played them they may have to pick MSU but not sure.

I would commit to driving from Clarksville and staying 2 nights in Nashville if it meant we got a shot at Vandy.

You never know, something crazy could happen and Vandy might not end up in the MCB. If we played Vandy, it would be a sellout, and I'm pretty sure that a sellout would look a lot better for the bowl in the long run than selling a few hundred hotel rooms for SJSU, Toledo, or WF. And plus - Wake and Vandy play the last week of the year anyway.

I'm honestly not sure I like our chances against Vandy this year, but wouldn't turn down the matchup if offered. I'm still hoping James Franklin is no longer on the Vandy sideline when they come down to the Boro in a few years.
