Cajuns beat Southern
Garry gets his first head coaching college win, 71-69, on the road against the Jaguars. Cajuns were lead by Ashley Benjamin with 19 points and Byronesha Santiago & Keke Veal with 14 apiece. Byronesha & Keke also had 9 boards each. Kia Wilridge had 6 steals, the team had 15. This team could be very interesting to watch over the course of the season.

A 2 point buzzer beating win over Southern is not giving me visions of Brodhead as the second coming of Geno Auriema. [sp?]
It is, however, a vast improvement over Rogers.
I am withholding judgment until Garry has a season or two under his belt, and has had a chance to get his girls in place, and gets them to buy in to his system. My gut is that he is a good hire, but it is way too early to tell.

Conference play... if they win any games in conference, I'll be shocked. But like VO, I'll give him two years.

George, the conference is incredibly weak at the bottom. I expect us to win perhaps 4-5 conference games this year.
