Key Tackle

Key Tackle

Who made the tackle on 3 and 4 for WKU on their second to last possession?  That may turn out to be one of the key plays for this season?  I thought WKU may have considered going for it on fourth down following that tackle.   I imagine the coach for WKU regrets that decision.  Minus the turnovers this was probably our best offensive game of the year.   This was one in which literally they could not stop us but we sure stopped ourselves with all the turnovers.   I bet teams win around 5 percent of the time when they lose the turnover battle by three.  I know our defense struggled against the run.  However, if we are scoring instead of turning it over,  WKU probably does not run it as often.  This is one in which the team and many fans did a good job at "hold on to the rope".

I think it was Moten, IIRC. Yeah, how he could not go for it considering he success they had been having running he ball has to have WKU fans scratching their heads.

Re: Key Tackle

I have since found out that Moten had the tackle on third and six while Anderson had the tackle on third and three.   I have been wondering what we can do to stop teams from pounding us with the run as much as has occurred this year.   North Texas,  Arkansas State, and WKU all have had success running it.  My conclusion is to be better offensively.    Offense struggled after Peoples went out at UNT and Broadway had five turnovers against Ark. State.    Last night we would have scored well over 40 without the turnovers.   If we score more consistently,  the opposition will not be able to run it right at us as they will have to take more chances.    Having said that,  improving against the run needs to be a focus in the off season.
