Instead they were told that at 3pm today there will be an announcement that Cincinnati will be joining the ACC.

But I have heard this from someone I trust.

Sounds pretty fantastic. There has been an awful lot of smoke, some of it for me personally and surprisingly, for there to be no fire.

If there is anyone on this board that has enough good will in the bank to support this it would be you. Should it not turn out to be true only a dolt would attempt to burn you at the stake. You have a history of being measured in what you say, so your post gives me a bit more hope.

Should the ACC end up raided and left with a moderately improved Big East 2.5, I'd still be pleased as punch, with finally a direct tie-in to a Major Bowl.

Thanks for the heads up.  I won't berate you if it turns out to not be true (I have strong doubts).  Don't these things typically leak to the national press and make the news before the official announcement?   This would have been the best-kept secret EVER if true.

Man, I am praying. I hope this is true. I would be tickled pink EVEN if the ACC is raided.
To have a place in the show is all that matters.        but......being a UC fan since the mid 60's i am scared that this is a Charlie Brown moment. Lucy, please dont pull the football out from under us again!!!

I got a call about 11:30am about this.

I have spoken with Tony today, but he called to ask me if I was suprised.... not if it was going to happen.
Brief conversation since he is in his show.
His interest was the Butch Jones/Tennessee portion of things.
Not so much the Cincy to ACC stuff. 

Again I feel strong this is accurate... but if they are going to have a news conference you would think we'd be hearing something soon.

There was no team meeting this morning. The team meets at 1:00.

That is my concern.
It would seem if either UC or the ACC had anything to say at 3 they would give a heads up by now in part to get the media in place.
A teleconference takes less time.... but still.

The rest of this week is going to be very interesting. Today seems to be full of rumors that may lead to something in the future.

I don't have sources of any kind, but I do believe there is some truth to all of this.

The next obvious question is will UNC, NCSt, UVA, VT, FSU, and Clemson be leaving the ACC?
