John Reik and the Russian
The rumor mill is hot and heavy that John Reik will be eligible next season and is going to bring his 6'9" Russian IMG Academy teammate with him.

Re: John Reik and the Russian
Riek's time has come and gone. We now have Thomas, Biggie, Gates, and Toyloy. We need a point guard! Not some center that will never play a college game. Lets see a 2 point guard team! That would be crazy...

Re: John Reik and the Russian
Riek would certainly give us a major inside presence. How much eligibility will he have? 3 to play 4? Here's pie in the sky? What if he decided he liked playing college ball and stayed his entire time. Shades of a certain player currently on UConn's roster, huh?

They rumor is the NCAA docked him one year for playing on a semi pro team in Sudan, he will have 3 years of eligibility.

Moot point though... if he's THAT good, he won't be around for any more than a year, two if we're lucky.

Re: John Reik and the Russian
I was listening to NPR on my way in to work this morning. They had a great report on Duany Duany, a former Wisconsin player and Sudanese national. He's been in southern Sudan the past few years, recruiting players to come to the U.S. They mentioned Reik in the segment, and his incredible potential. If interested, you can find it here - http://www.npr.org/templates/s...oryId=102526889UCLemmiwinks wrote:

Has anyone heard that Riek was spotted on the campus of another Big East school, accompanied by the Head Coach of that school, just a few days ago? Is he having second thoughts about Cincy?
