CB- Howard Wilder Commits
Junior College Cornerback picks UC over Arizona State, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Mizzouri, Wisconsin and several others. Flipped him from USF.

Re: CB- Howard Wilder Commits
Love it. Crazy to see such an infusion of corners on this roster six feet tall or taller! For years, it seemed as if all corners on our team were 5'9! I understand the need to go heavy with junior college transfers to get the roster up-to-date with TT's type of players, but hopefully the 2014 class is a majority of high school recruits.

Re: CB- Howard Wilder Commits
Wow. UC comes from nowhere to snatch this 3 star top JUCO 6 foot cornerback from USF and everybody else. And that is why CB recruit Canty 5'9" no longer has an offer from Cincinnati and will instead probably sign with a MAC school. I believe Wilder has 3 additional years of eligibility. Plus Cogswell! It is a great day to be a Bearcat fan. Now Mr. 3-star top JUCO RB Woodley come on down!!

Re: CB- Howard Wilder Commits
There are some conflicting reports about whether or not Wilder is really committed to UC.

USF Scout shows Wilder as a UC Commit. There is also a thread regarding his possibly switching his commitment on their premium site, which I do not have access to.

It's an odd situation. He told people that he switched his commitment from USF to UC and then later sort of backed off that statement. It seems as though he's no longer considering himself a USF commit but also may not necessarily consider himself a UC commit either. Kind of sounds like he is favoring UC but is still open to other offers. Guess we'll know by next Wednesday.

Really impressive offer sheet, I really hope he sticks with UC. Seems like in his short time here, TT has been able to consistently attract a higher level of recruits than we've gotten in the past. I'm really excited what he can do when given a whole year to recruit!

I know Specht has a lot of respect for Tubs. If we manage to find ourselves in a better conference, the sky's the limit.

Re: CB- Howard Wilder Commits
Seems like TT has enough verbals from DBs. Hopefully, they can get another DT or a DE to solidify this class.

At least at DE we've got Hartsfield and Jordan coming in that should be able to contribute right away. And we also grabbed Mark Wilson who will be able to help down the line. I'd really like to see us get at least one DT in this class. Also really would like one more OL.

This recruit will decide today on whether he will commit to UC or USF.

RE: CB- Howard Wilder Commits
Its pretty late in the game to be adding via need unless you have a well built relationship with someone who isnt commited. At this point you should be taking best players available that you can get, IMO. There is no point adding a big ugly that you arent sure can play even if it is a need. We've heard almost no whispers of a DT interested or one that CTT really wants....in terms of whats left out there.
Im all for rabbits out of a hat but im not in favor of adding some big guy just hoping he can play. If we dont have any guys left on the board rated highly just give the extra schollies to walkons for a year or take the best player available.
