Suppose to switch to TE.

TE is exactly what i was thinking! Just watched his elite 11 tryout and his footwork is 2 slow! Good arm but man he would have to improve his speed tremendously!

It was on 247 sports.......had to subscribe for the whole thing.  But it said signed to play TE.  Comparisons to ...hell the last 2 - 3 TE's we've had, have.  Also that they are nfl types.  Those are the ones to watch.  Hell at  that size he might be a DE, lol.  Or there's the workhorse FB I love to see leading the rb.  Ive noticed several athlete types lately. 

I didn't like the fla paper's above comment implying .....he had no other choices, I took that negatively.  Give the kid a break, his parents aren't whining.....But wth they spoke of munchie as if he was the starter.  So go figure.

Sounds like the guy didn't do his homework.  I'm curious, why would landing Johnson make a difference?

This could just be my opinion but if u land a good one in Johnson who could start over the next 4 years why move another guy to TE? Kind of a waste if u ask me. Looks like this guy could turn out to be a pretty darn good QB.

We don't have a ton of depth at TE right now (although I think DJ Dowdy will be a beast) so taking two TEs isn't unheard of. Plus, we don't know whether Gran plans to utilize two TEs at times.

Heck, if Tubs thinks he has three better QB's, move Cogswell to defensive end.  Great size and athleticism.  Worked for Barwin and to a lesser degree Carey.  Cogswell strikes me as a kid that will struggle to stay around 235.  Why not let him eat, lift and blow that body up?  The right strength program will enhance his natural athletic ability.  Besides, "Cogswell" sounds like a defensive guy, not a QB!

lol, with those lb's already on him, you'd think he could easily add 30 + .  Hell, he can go both ways, TE and DE.  wth.......If he has hands they'll want to see him at TE first I'd think.  Who knows, he'll be a player wherever he sticks.

I dont think he will play on defense due to his 4.8 40 time. Tuberville likes fast & a bit undersized DE's. Travis Johnson would be a huge get for this recruiting class. He would give opposing defenses match up problems in the passing game.

The only negative i can see from Cogwell moving to TE is that it says he only runs a 4.8 forty and for a TE thats a little on the slow side.

He may well get a lot faster if he trains differently.  As a QB, he may not have focused on his foot speed.  He would need to reconfigure his body to play elsewhere.

Some guys run faster in games than on the clock.  There's game speed and speed imho.  But stating the obvious really.  TE looks like a good starting point.  Maybe he's quick?  Sure not fast.
