If we can have a top 40 recruiting class this year - I will be ecstatic! Keep up the good work UC!
Go Bearcats! Beat the Blue Devils! Get invited to the Big12!

Hmmmm. Seems like Tommy might be a better recruiter than Lyle?!

Tommy's assistants are high quality during the offseason without a doubt.....i have reservations during the season and on gameday. But for now talent upgrades are a big plus

RE: We signed 3 JUCOs
I'm not really sure how I feel about all these kids decommiting and replacing them with JUCOs. We're they encouraged to decommiting so they could be replaced by grown men? If this is a sustained strategy, it certainly won't sit well with the OHSFCA. I bet they were just paying lip service and blowing smoke about honoring existing offers.

Re: We signed 3 JUCOs
TT is going to get some JUCO guys in here to lessen the learning curve and get maturity in. This will give him a stop-gap with his recruits to allow him to develop incoming freshman that meet his style.
Let's trust this coach who has proven to be a winner.

Re: We signed 3 JUCOs
I want recruits who are excited about playing for the University of Cincinnati. I liked Kyle Kempt - but if he doesn't want to come here, then I wish him the best where ever he goes.
I think it is good that Kay has another year - it will help Coyne or Coney get to where they need to be (but I think they might challenge him in the off season...who knows?)
But getting JUCO players on the defensive side of things and on the front 7 is fine with me! As long as they are disciplined and ready for the academic side of things as well!
GO Bearcats! Beat the Blue Devils....get invited to the Big12!

Last year's class was huge, but they'll still be young next year. Some Jucos balance the classes a bit.

GO Bearcats! Beat the Blue Devils....get invited to the Big12! The way Kempt's status changed was strange to me. When Butch announced he was taking the Tennessee job, Kyle announced that he was still committed to UC for the time being. Then when TT got hired, I was fairly certain that this would bode well for keeping Kempt, based on his passing success the last few years...

Re: We signed 3 JUCOs
It'll come to surface - on an interesting note was snagging Stockstill. While he may not seem to be anything to brag about - his family ties are interesting. His Dad is the HC at MTSU and Siegel is a pretty decent HS football team. I wonder how he pans out as a QB prospect on our roster.
I still think Kempt is a better prospect though. But TT knows what he is looking for - I really hope our QB coach will do a great job in developing both leadership and talent in that position moving forward.

He had to fully digest the coaching change. Going with Lyle was the safer bet.

BearcatSeminole wrote: Did UC pull Kempt's scholarship? I haven't seen any indication of that. All I saw is that Tuberville was honoring all current committed offers. It's hard to say what is happening behind the scenes, but it would surprise me if the new staff came in and started pulling offers when they've only got a month until signing day. I hated to see guys like Wiesman, Branisel, Turner, Davis, etc. de-commit because I thought they were really nice players. As for the recruiting of JUCO players, I'm not a big fan of going overboard on the number of them you bring in each year. But I think the guys we've brought in are just more a function of players that Tuberville and staff has a relationship with. They're trying to fill out this class after major defections and those are guys that are willing to come to UC so I get it. And as of now we have 4 JC players which isn't too many. I hope the focus is on filling out the class with high school players from here on out. But the staff has to do what they can do to fill out this class and only have a month's time. Next year will be the real test of how they recruit in my opinion.
