Re: Live Video for Youngstown State

I noticed that last night.  I was going to drive to Youngstown and watch the game live but when I saw it was on the Horizon League network I decided to stay home.

Down 45-27, and late in the half allowing YSU to shoot at 76%.  redface  Pathetic, no matter how young the roster.  This team is simply slow footed.

Much better defensive effort in the 2nd half. Not sure where this was.

Re: Live Video for Youngstown State

Fowler continues to impress.  He has that street tough mentality.  He scored a career high tonight.  Simons finally found himself in the second half.  I don't know if anyone said anything to him at the half, or he just decided to become a threat.  Either way, his second half was outstanding.  He attacked inside often with great success.  He finished, hit foul shots, and together with Fowler pushed the team back into the game.

Others contributed, but trailing by 24 with 19:00 to go was just too much.  Randall was off his game.  Keel scored and showed some agression.  He needs to continue to do so.  There was some nice play in the second half and a couple of the young guns have finally turned the corner from freshmen to sophomores.

Fowler and Simons made the transition.  Hibbits has been coming along.  Richardson played hard however he has not had the necessary minutes to really develop this year.

It will be interesting to see if these guys can build off of this second half performance.

Too many missed "puppies!" Too many rebounds lost off the Chips' fingertips!

I certainly like the effort (except, some of our players are "trying too hard" in my opinion! They need to relax more mentally and let their talent come out.

I am impressed with Chris Fowler's (CMU's assists record holder for a freshman pt guard) progress!

Re: Live Video for Youngstown State

You don't give up 90 points to a team missing it's top scorer, because "your effort was so great."

When you went to a zone their PG just dribbled through the gaps and nobody slid over to help.  Keno's team seems to get softer every game.  And it's not like it just started at CMU.

Per WIKI during the Keno's tenure
The Friars averaged 82 points per game, the fourth highest in Division I, while also surrendering 85 points per conference game, the worst statistical performance in Big East history.

Offense comes and goes.  Defense is all about effort and it can be consistent.

See Doc, you're a broken record.  You can name call like a 2 year old but you can't explain to me how giving up 90 points is an example of "great effort."  Nor can you refute the Wiki account of Keno's last stop, where he set a Big East record for giving up the most points in a game.

As for Fowler, I agree, I think he has big time talent.

It's easy to see the obvious Stat.  Fowler has some skills.

Apparently it's not so easy to see the obvious when it comes to defense.  Keno has a documented history of not stressing defense.  CMU has given up 80+ points in three of the last four.  Nobody seems to want to see it though. I think CMU has missed the boat twice by not hiring the JC coach at Mott.  Perhaps the third time will be a charm.
