Re: Luke meyer stats

Well, in that we're talking stats, admittedly only one game, but in a contest where Mr. Highsmith played against Mr. Koczinski...well let the stats speak for themselves. Some folk gave up on Highsmith because of an injury...seems like he's healed. SHALOM

Re: Luke meyer stats

Highsmith played AAU on the same team as 3 of our freshmen.  His sister goes to Western.  We would have liked him. Word is he wanted out of Michigan.  I don't think Kozinski will help you much.  Another version of the Keel kid.  Had a lot of early offers, but he didn't have them late.

Re: Luke meyer stats

As of now, Highsmith may be a top five in a class very heavy with wing players. NIU is getting a really good player. If Montgomery has or can get a solid 2-guard, the NIU back-court could be good. Kozinski had a strong AAU season, I believe his team won the nationals. My concern though was he had Walton and Monte Morris at the point. How much of his success was self-generated; can he get his own shot against athletic defenders? As a Chip fan I certainly hope he can; I've heard conflicting answers; we'll see. How would you compare the G.Rapids Christian "big" and the Mt. Pleasant/B.Vista, 6-6", transfer?  SHALOM

Kozinski will have CMU's assists record holder for a freshman pt quard dishing to him for the next 3 seasons. Davis' offensive schemes will get Kozinski plenty of open 3s. I worry more about his defense.

Our team has taken a lot of "open 3s" this season and a lot of them have not fallen. If an opposing team can both stay in front of Fowler, a guy with real talent and run at the three point line, does Kozinski have a second option? Can he put the ball on the floor and do so against athletic defenders? Screens certainly can help him. Also, to "worry" about his d., is it because of his lack of commitment to defense, or is it because of a lack of athleticism? If it's the latter, watch out for athletic defenders and athletic offensive players. I've NEVER seen him play, I'll just have to wait. It seems that this class could be a serious step in the right direction. Come Spring the class could even improve the more. Also, with the right addition to Meyer, we could be on a roll.   SHALOM

He's not a PG.

Hey dumbo, reading comprehension please! otc never said Kozinski was a point guard! He said, "Kozinski will have CMU's assists record holder for a freshman pt quard dishing to him for the next 3 seasons."

Professor Gizmo, I've seen him play, I'm a 100% sure you haven't (Eddies lost to Vicksburg by 4).  He's a combo guard in college, and that's a stretch.  Mostly he launched 3's off screens.  He plays point because his HS coach wants the ball in his hands, not because he's setting up teammates.  Doesn't have much of a team around him.  Think Keel.  Tell me Professor Gizmo, do you think of Keel as a PG?  You probably do LOL.

Congrats to the Broncos, now 17-9 with a win over a solid Pacific team.   For the weekend Bronco Hockey and hoops will have drawn nearly 11,000 fans.

Double Dumbo!!! otc said Kozinski would have CMU's assists record holder for a freshman (current CMU freshman, pt. guard, Chris Fowler) dishing to him (Kozinski) for the next three years!!!!

Reading comprehension, reading competition! Sorry I am required to s-p-e-l-l it out for you a second time! You are an excellent exhibit of the failure of the donkey "educational" system!!!

WTH are you talking about?  Do you even know what an assist is?  For Kozinski to get the CMU assist record for freshmen, he needs to dish it to a scorer, not score off an assist (there is no stat for scoring off an assist, other than getting credit for the pts).  In your scenario Fowler gets the assist you idiot. eek  You either can't phrase it correctly, or you don't grasp how an assist is given.

And tell me Gizmo, what does "Reading comprehension, reading competition!"  mean?  Reading competition?????????? Before you roll out these moronic rants try proofing what you've written.  Sometimes it takes the Rosetta Stone to figure out what the he11 you're talking about.

WOW! This is HILARIOUS!! You obviously CANNOT read! I understand this: You do not know what reading comprehension means! Please go back and re-read otc's statement. If you still do not understand (reading comprehension), check with any elementary school kid in your neighborhood for an interpretation!

Ummm Doctor, here is what OTC said............................... eek1
"Kozinski will have CMU's assists record holder for a freshman pt quard dishing to him for the next 3 seasons."

Again, someone could have the assist record, if Kozinski is knocking down loads of shots.  However.............it can't be Kozinski, as OTC's badly phrased sentence asserts.  It could be Fowler, or some other PG, but it won't be Kozinski.  There is no stat for points scored off assists.

Now carry on with whatever boneheaded point you were trying to make. excited

RE: Luke meyer stats

OTC's point was that our current frosh point guard Fowler would be Kozinski's set up man ie. Kozinski would not be dishing out the assist he would be the benefactor.

RE: Luke meyer stats

Might I steady the course and return to Kozinski and his game? Granted it was but one game, but he shot 4 for 18. I assume he shot against a fairly athletic defender or defenders. My concern is his game. Has anyone seen him play? His AAU video doesn't really help me get a feel for his total game. Against the type of athletic defenders he'll face in college, does he have the floor game to get his shot or will he have to depend on others? Does he have the athleticism to defend at the collegiate level? I've seen Luke Meyer, but not Kozinski. He's been accused of being an Austin Keel; just wondering has anyone seen him play to say differently? The 2013 class is excellent at the wings, but he's not a top 15 as best I can tell. Just wondering what does he bring to the table, both negatively and positively.                       SHALOM

Yeah, I get his point.  The doctor of stats was trying to portray it as some sort of bizzaro world stat that doesn't exist...................since it would actually be an assist for Fowler who would be a sophomore it wouldn't even be a freshmen record if it actually were a viable stat..........................uhhhhhhh,  the confusion continues. excited

Re: Luke meyer stats

WMU Fan, Fowler set the freshmen record for assist this year at our school.  So next year, Kozinski will have the record holder for freshmen assists passing the ball to him.  Is that clear enough for you?  Doc isn't making up stats, what he posted made complete sense.  Learn how to read big guy.

Clear? What world are you living in?  First off there is no stat for that.  It's a made up stat by Doc and OTC and even then it makes no sense at all.  It has nothing to do with reading, and everything to do with the fact it's not a tracked stat, just some goofy stat you're trying to put out there that doesn't exist.

But let's pretend the stat does exist.  You call it what OTC calls is, "Freshmen stats passing the ball to him."  Using his wording it must be a freshmen passing the ball to Kozinski?  How do you know it's not going to be Fowler a sophomore getting the ball to a wide open Kozinski?  But let's say it's an actual stat and the freshmen Kozinski gets the ball and makes the shot.   So Kozinski just made 2 or 3 points.  What does he get in your imaginary stat world?  Does he get credit for the points, and receiving the assist too LOL.  Does that leave Fowler with nothing?  Who's on first?  What's on second..................

I've seen Kozinski play, I doubt he's on the floor ten minutes a game.  He's like five other guys you have who stand around on the perimeter waiting for someone to kick a ball out to them.

Anyhow, whatever you guys are smoking up there, I want some of it. biggrin
