A nice pick by the crew in Oxford.

Any wagers as to who'll get the gig in Ypsilanti?

I thought ex-Eagle and now ex Wyandotte HS. coach Ron Adams might be in the mix but local papers here say he is not interested.  He doesn't have a lot of college experience but he has done a great job with WHS.

I like that hire by Miami...
EMU:  who cares?!  It doesn't matter...  BUT, I still keep hearing Tyrone Wheatleys name.
Since becoming division one and joining the MAC in 1975, CMU is 27-11-1 overall against WMU.

Chuck should be driving to Mt. Pleasant right now, instead of Oxford.

Miami got a good coach.

Wish he was our head coach.

Dino Barbers from Eastern Ill (11-1 - only loss, which was close, was to NIU) is still available. biggrin

Not sure if Mr. Craig Bohl from NDSU is entertaining offers, however with Nebraska saying they fully support Bo Pelini, he remains available.  I just thought with his success, he could move to a major conference.  Plus he's familiar with Kelly/Shorts and is very successful when playing @ Kelly/Shorts banghead.

The Kelly Coaching tree in the MAC...

Quinn - Buffalo
Molnar - UMass
Martin - Miami

Should we rename the East division?

Another spread to defend against.

I like the hire and wish he could have been in the mix for CMU.  If in my best dreams Heeke is only waiting to see if we get a bowl bid to fire Enos, he has already waited too long to pick the best talent available.

Craig Bohl is the hot girl that won't go out with you. Although she seems attainable and has dated worse guys than you, she still says no. We need to get over coach Bohl, he's just not that into us.

I have seen Pete Lembo's name mentioned for the Wake Forest position. Would be interesting to see if he would return to North Carolina since he has roots there from his time at Elon.

Pete Lembo to Wake Forest would be a great hire. The benefit for us of having him leave Ball State would also be good.

It would follow the MAC-to-ACC track, as Jim Grobe was at Ohio before going to Wake Forest. But that is a tough place to win with any type of consistency; Grobe went 77-82 there, which was one of the best runs a head coach has ever had there.

Though nearly completely unlikely, if Grobe would ever express an interest in coaching at Mount Pleasant, Heeke shouldn't hang up the phone.

Lembo most definitely will be offered another job, especially with finishing with a 10/11 win season.  I think Lembo will land a big job.

Clawson at BGSU has done a good job as well.  He's got allot of east coast ties, therefore maybe he gets the Wake Forest job.  noidea

Tough to say. Am sure they are interested in a lot of candidates who may not be interested in them. Babers at EIU should be a given but might look at the move as a step down. He's going to attract attention from better non-BCS programs.

I think Bill Sheridan would be their big get if they can lure him from the NFL.

Realistically, they probably go for a cost effective choice with a good HC track record at the lower levels, like SVSUs Jim Collins or they roll the dice on a wild card, a la PJ Fleck, who will draw attention to the program, if not wins.

Why would he come to CMU?  They have actual fans at NDSU.

RE: chuck martin to be new miami coach

IMHO, the NDSU job is at least as good as half of the FBS jobs. He probably makes a very nice salary, has a great following get to actually play for a national title on a regular basis. Let's face it for most of the teams that are not BCS level the hopes of actually landed a spot in the final four is going to be extremely slim at best when one considers that it is basically going to be done by committee of good ole boys and one wanna be good ole boy.
