Dip banned again?
Dippy is bragging to his Bronco pals that he got the boot again. Apparently it got under his skin that we didn't accept his 'superior bowl competition' argument. Don't worry, he'll be back lurking here soon enough and cherry picking stuff to paste over there.

Prof: I thought that it was interesting that when it was mentioned that he contacts our recruits in the past, he mentioned that he just talked to the recruit on a message board and he just happened to de-commit? The person I was talking about didn't decommit? I guess that means there has been more than one?

RE: Dip banned again?
The only thing he has to hold over our heads is 2 wins in a row, unfortunately we can't argue against that point. 2011 we got spanked and 2012 we crapped the bed late and WMU took control of the game. Other than that they have nothing on us. No MAC Championships and no bowl wins. I have to laugh at "his northern lower thinking" line or whatever he says, as though the majority of both our schools students aren't from Metro Detroit...
The so called happy talk point is amusing as well. What's the point of bickering back and forth on an internet forum? All of us here share the same passion for CMU and CMU athletics and there is quite a bit of disagreement (Enos, our offense, recruiting, etc.) The difference is we don't whine, bitch, and attack each other over every little topic like most of them do on their board. We have our users who don't get along, I'm looking at you 70 and row40, but even you guys remain civil the majority of the time. When a thread turns into bickering back and forth it just gets boring and turns into personal agendas.
He claims he wasn't "trolling", but when you run back to your forum and create two different threads about how your going to get banned, that pretty much seems like the definition of trolling.

"The so called happy talk point is amusing as well."
Amusing is right. You guys hated Enos the first two years, then you won 4 out of 5 by beating Akron, UMass, EMU, and Miami (the 4 worst teams in the league) and you're back on his train. Not an ounce of critical thinking there, just happy talk. "Next year's sure to be a big success!!!" Really? You lose half your starters and key players and have to break in an untested QB.
Keno wins a few OOC games and he's a savior. He gets in conference and loses night after night, with his share of lopsided blowouts and the happy talk just continues.

Sorry WMU, you are getting carried away now...maybe grasping is a better description. There is plenty on this board who are not on the Enos train, but until the game is back on the field there is little argument to be made (other than reviewing the recruits which is not an exact science) about whether we are improving under his leadership or declining. As for the Keno comment, you have to admit that our performance on the court is better than we've had for years. Most of us expected this season to be a complete wash-out. I mean, a handful of wins at best. What's to complain about when we exceed expectations on wins before the conference play even starts. We'll give Keno time to get some recruits in before we judge him...a courtesy I am sure you Broncos will extend your new football coach, as well...no? So, if you must stay, have some fun, but don't get carried away arguing for arguments sake. Humor of the debate can be entertaining, but not when it spins out completely.

Geez Dip thanks for pointing out that we lose our QB. By the way, whats so terribly wrong with being optimistic? You should try it sometime, perhaps your life will take turn for the better. All that hatred, karma's a bitch. Just saying.

Re: Dip banned again?
I wouldn't call losing 9 of 22 starters half.
Of course we lose key players. It's college football. The turnover is happening at every team in the country.
The reason we're optimistic is in spite of our personnel losses we have some key players coming back. Zipton, Davis, Benton, Dean, Cunningham, Beamish, Lavalii, Phillips, etc. all were key parts of the success we had last year. Plus, I think Rush (if he ends up starting) will be an ultimately be an upgrade at QB.

I would hardly say people have forgot the first 2 years of Enos and all of a sudden think he's the greatest coach. Guys like cmu70 have supported him since day one. Guys like row40 haven't been nearly as patient. Then there's guys like me who are in the middle. The results haven't been great but you could see a bit of improvement this year. I was not a fan and I still don't think he's the coach that can get us back to 10 wins, but I'm still going to support the team. That's what fans do, because if we win he'll be gone and if we lose he will be gone, but the team is always there. If you visited this forum in 10 or 11 you would see there were a lot of us upset with the results and ready to run him out of town. We can just carry on a conversation in a civil way whereas you guys bitch and moan and call each other names constantly. When we were sitting at 2-5, I said he needed to beat Akron, EMU, and UMass along with either WMU or Miami in order to keep his job and he was able to do that. It was a baby step in the right direction and getting a chance to play in a bowl game and win it was good for the program. Now it's up to Enos and staff to take the next step. I won't be happy with 6-6 next year even though we will be breaking in a new QB and other positions as well. We have seen some of the younger talent and they need to take the next step. It's year 4 and we need to be contending with NIU and Toledo. I don't expect anyone to knock them off the top, but I think we should finish 3rd in the West. I'm not the person to talk about the basketball team as I don't pay nearly as much attention to it as I do football. I will say having been at CMU for the Zeigler years and having watched him after I left, the few months Davis has been coaching this team in games has proven he was better than EZ. This has been a disappointing stretch, but the fact this team has won 9 games is impressive to me. Randall has been a lot better than I expected, but I expected this team to win about 5 or 6 games total.

--------------------------------------------- This from the guy who touts the number of winning seasons and not championships as the measure of a program (for reasons that are all too obvious) and makes it sound as though a blowout bowl loss to Rice is preferable to a bowl win over Troy. WMU - you, of all people, should understand fans looking at their program with a "glass is half full" mentality.

He sure was in a hurry to run over to their board to brag about being banned. And I don't get the happy talk comment. There are plenty of disagreements about Enos, Heeke, Pro vs Spread, Ron Jeremy, and others. He is either too stubborn or dense to look for them. We upgraded our BB coach, ended the FB season on a good note, have excellent wrestling/gymnastics/WBB teams, and wrapped up a solid FB recruiting class. Lots to be positive about. It's not as if we finished 4-8 and hired a coach with less experience than Enos, after being told by our AD that we'd be looking for a winning, experienced HC. He must not read any of row's posts ;)

6for, I do realize that I often go overboard with 40. I promise I will try to keep my cool even more this coming season. I know I can be a real pain.
