I counted 12 for CMU. Some good size linemen in the group.

Noticed that u of m got the cream of the crop...CMU did well in numbers...and State had virtually no one, so they are looking elsewhere. I wonder if this is an indictment of Michiga HS football ?

It will be interesting to see if WMU gives us any competition gettying Michigan players with their new coach. With Cubit at least in recent years he was virtually no competition in that regard, with only half of the Michigan players on the roster that CMU has

When they hired the new coach they said they would focus on a 6 hour radius. The FL experiment with Cubit didn't yield any MAC championships.

Re: detroit news blue chip list
WMU is in a great location to recruit the midwest. Located almost at the intersection of 94 and 131, halfway between Detroit and Chicago, a short drive from Grand Rapids, Lansing, South Bend, and a nice trip from Indianapolis, they can offer recruits the opportunity to get home occasionally as well as the opp for their family and friends to get to Kazoo to watch them play. This is a dangerous time for CMU. If the new coaching staff goes about it right, they could supplant CMU in Chicago, South Bend, Indy, GR, etc. This is going to be interesting.
WMU = Ship of Fools

Just in the past week or so WMU has not only received a committment from Corey Davis, but also from a 3-star linebacker from Illinois. And Josh Bass (Scout 3-star)switched his committment from EMU to WMU, so they do look like they will compete hard for Midwest talent. WMU also has open slots where they are in a good position to land recruits late in this process. I hope we can create an opening if we need one for someone on the fence late, like a Nathan Ricketts.

Not only did the "Florida experiment" not work out, IT resulted in getting Cubit fired! He had a home down there (very helpful in recruiting Florida players) and still could not make enough "inroads" to survive in the MAC!

Tyler Vantubbergan is from MI, and he torched you folks for 4 TD's if I remember. Justin Currie, Dan O'Neill, and Fred Bishop are from MI, and they all made All MAC. It's not about quantity it's quality. If Enos wants to own MI let him. What has it got you so far? 12 wins in 3 years. Kendrick Roberts out of Flint was the most prized non BCS MI WR recruit a couple years back. You offered as did several others. He's 4th on the depth chart buried behind 2 freshmen from FL. Jamie Wilson, Belle Glades, FL was named to the All American freshmen team at WR. So who really gives a crap about whether they're from MI. Enos is currently going after a 215 pound DE from Sparta. Do you honestly believe that's the best he can find at this stage of the game? A week in Florida and he'd find a half dozen legit DI defensive ends.

Re: detroit news blue chip list
You are correct WMU55.CMU won 3 championships in 4 years averaging about 19-21 FL players on the roster and half from out of the state of MI. Since then,CMU has few from FL,save Addae,Flory, and not nearly half from out of state. Nobody will argue w/ u that CMU's results since then have not been the same. But if Dan Enos exceeds 3 championships in the next 4 years, just going primarily MI,he will have proven his formula just as good. And yes WMU55,nobody really gives a crap if they're from MI unless they can play.

I totally agree that CMU needs to try and fill the late spots with Florida talent. I also agree that CMU's Michigan experiment has led to a disastrous start to the Dan Enos era. All of this being true, CMU is coming off a disappointing season (Chippewa standards) in which they won 7 games but salvaged a bowl win (3-4 in bowls). A disappointing season is one that ends without our team winning a MAC title (7). I love the attempt to take shots at our program while it's down, but down for us is still better than the Broncos.

Chipchi Said I love the attempt to take shots at our program while it's down, but down for us is still better than the Broncos.
While it's true you had a great run under Fever and BK, this so called "winning culture" you want to portray hardly stands up to the facts.
You've had 10 winning seasons in the last 20 years. Hardly what I would call amazing. Miami's had 13, Western's had 13, BG 13, and UT has had 17.

We certainly have nothing to brag about the last 3 years under Enos.
But, since you brought it up... How many MAC Championships has WMU won in the last 20 years? And for that matter, how many bowl games has WMU won?
CMU has had 3 MAC Championships and 3 bowl wins.
Which program would you rather have based "on the facts"?
Central Michigan University Chippewas 2009, 2007, 2006, 1994, 1990, 1980, 1979 MAC Football Champions 2006 Motor City Bowl Champions 2010 GMAC Bowl Champions 2012 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl Champions

You don't really have a leg to stand on. 1 MAC title and an 0-5 bowl record is not in the same ball park as CMU's 7 MAC titles and a 3-4 bowl record. The tide may be changing but you have no business talking to CMU fans about what it takes to become a winner in the MAC.

Come on ChipDip. Use your real name and keep counting all of the MAC championship trophies on display at WMU.
