I saw this as well, but I'm choosing not to think too much about it.

I know Twitter is someone's own personal account and they can ultimately say what they want, but I wish the staff or compliance or someone would monitor their use a little bit. I follow a handful of the players and some of the stuff I see them tweeting about makes them look like idiots.

It must drive coaches crazy that a college age athlete (and even pros) can put a message out there with no filters, nobody approving the message, etc. The cat's out of the bad, other than banning social media I don't know what they can do about it. Coaches used to worry about players breaking curfew, getting into altercations (they still do), but now they have to watch what's being said online.

Don't most bigger schools have an administrator that checks any athletes social media accounts? Does CMU? Hopefully this is one of those that gets tweeted and then pulled.

I worked in the athletic department at UM for a few years and there is simply no way to monitor every person's tweets and Facebook posts. The compliance staff did their best to inform the student's and the coaches did their best to enforce some rules. At a school like UM where the players are idolized, every tweet and every Facebook post is talked about by the fans, so if anything was fishy or out of line it was always looked into and handled quickly. I know UM has a much larger staff and if they can't monitor everyone I doubt the extremely small CMU staff can.

The Titus tweet doesn't bother me as much as the ones I read with just tons of cursing and just other stupid crap. If you want to do all of that it's your right, just protect your tweets then. I've actually unfollowed a few of them because the it just makes them look so stupid.

What's up with the smiley at the end of the post? Something funny going on?

You wouldn't go to practice and then quit, you'd quit before practice.
The coach wouldn't have you practice and then kick you off the team, he'd do that before practice.

Maybe he just meant it's the last regular practice of the season. Maybe.

Re: Titus Davis done for CMU?

He must mean the last practice of the reg season.

If he thinks he's too good for CMU football that's just laughable.  He's a decent player.  He's made some good plays.  But he's also had some huuuuge screw ups.  And the program rolled out the red carpet for this kid.  If he meant he's too good for this program then I say good riddance.  He must have meant the last practice of the reg season.

Read last week on another board that he tweeted that he played his last game at KS. IF true, he must be transferring or it's grades. The grades would come out before the bowl game.

Based on more recent tweets, TD appears to be mocking the prediction of the world's  "demise" next month:

Ah, the dangers of taking tweets at face value. No context. Thanks for clarifying, Mikero.
