Fire Enos
Any sentimentality to Enos winning these last three games needs to be put into perspective.
The record of the teams Enos beat is 13 - 33 and if he beats UMASS that jumps to a whopping 14 - 44 or a win percentage of 31%.
He lost to every team in our division but Eastern Michigan who almost, at 1-8, beat him.
This is not improvement.
You can't spin this.

Frez, I'm not calling Enos the next Lombardi, but saying 6-6 isn't improvement over 3-9 is spin.

Re: Fire Enos
Before the season, I called 6-6 and missing out on a bowl game. If we get in a bowl game and win it, I can take having him back. But he's a bad coach. We have beaten the cupcakes this year outside of Iowa.

RE: Fire Enos
I've stated many times I'm not a believer in Enos, but assuming he beats UMass he did what I wanted him to do to prove he's worthy of another year. Looking at our schedule there aren't many surprises from this year. You can argue we should have beat Navy, but we also beat Iowa which no one expected and that's a wash in my book. That loss to Navy also doesn't look that bad as they are 7-4. The only game we should be upset about realistically is WMU. That was our game and we gave it away.
Our position in the MAC is exactly where I expected us to be. NIU, Toledo, and Ball St are the best teams in the west and the records reflect that.
He's not going anywhere, time to face the facts. If the win against EMU didn't lock that up than this win over Miami did.

Frez I thought you left this board, please do so again.
George, if we are lucky enough to get into a bowl do you really think we are going to get a match up that will be one we can win? I seriously doubt it. But the most important thing is that we will get those extra practices for next year and they are like a win to those younger guys.

Re: Fire Enos
6-6 looks better on paper, but this team isn't one iota better. If the 2012 team played the 2010 schedule, the exact same teams from 2010 brought to the future in a time machine, they would finish 3-9 again.
In three seasons shouldn't Enos have beaten at least one good team?
Isn't it sad that 6-6 in the high watermark. That Dave Heeke is breathing a sigh of relief because it's better than 3-9 ... on paper.
I don't think you understand how bad things are going to be next year when we lose most of our experienced players considering that Enos thought this was a championship team that could "win the whole thing."
Yes "Enos will be back" but CMU football won't be. It won't be back until he is fired.

Move on Frez. Your act is as tired as CMU defensive line was after chasing and whacking Miami's qb all day.
WMU = Ship of Fools

A winnable one? Probably not. But the fact that we get to go is big. We get the payout which is nice and some more exposure. I would rather go to one and lose than not go to one at all.

When CMU goes out of state to a bowl they will lose money. The payout is split evenly with all other MAC programs.

Yes "Enos will be back" but CMU football won't be. It won't be back until he is fired. I am one of many that agree with you, Frez. With Iowa standing at 4-7, that win is not looking quite as impressive in hindsight; nor does the thumping at home to those mighty 5-6 Spartans, which now actually looks embarrassing. In fact, we beat exactly zero of the teams on the schedule that we needed to beat in order to make November meaningful. We dropped all the division games to teams that have hired coaches more recently than we have (Ball State, Northern Illinois, Toledo), and will be watching Kent from the East play NIU for the MAC Championship under a second year coach. Noodle on that for a bit, while thinking about how we are building the program the right way and losing to Western at home for the first time since Debord.... Sorry if I don't buy it. I too am not looking forward to next season's schedule at all, as it has regression to the mean written all over it. IMHO, we basically get to see our football program struggle for what is now likely to be more than half a decade because we have an administration in place that has no clue about the first rule of trading: cut your losses quick, and let your profits run. Being willing to admit mistakes and make changes is what separates the best in my business from the mediocre. Clearly, we are happy with mediocre. Nice....

Always a Chippewa ! Well is that a guarantee or a likelihood? Regardless, I would like the bowl game.

Re: Fire Enos
Losing to Western two years in a row (and the self destruction that went on in the 4th qtr on D against them at home) is more than enough for me to call for everyone on this staff to be shown the door as soon as this season is over.
5-7 or 6-6 is only a mirage if anyone thinks that's improvement. It looks good on paper (compared to two years of 3-9)but anyone who has been following this program for any number of years, knows this team is no better than the previous Enos led teams.
His overall won loss record is abysmal too. This whole staff needs to go for our beloved football program to move on from this debacle... IMO.

RE: Fire Enos
While I hope that we can beat UMASS and become bowl eligible (and actually get to a bowl) this staff has NOT shown improvement. Frez is right, and I don't like to be a Debbie Downer, but 6-6 doesn't equal improvement. We have beat essentially 4 FCS teams (Akron, SEMO, UMASS, EMU) a poor Miami team, and Iowa. Iowa is the only decent win on that schedule, and they're 4-7. Our record is a mirage and an indication of the weakness of our schedule rather than real improvement on the field.
While I hope we make a bowl for the sake of the extra practice, the fact is that this team is no better than the two previous 3-9 squads, and I'd argue that they may even be worse than the 2010 squad. If we play Ohio, BG, Kent and Buffalo in our crossovers, and we'd be 3-9 most likely for the third season in a row.
So while I share in everyone's hope that this team gets a bowl, I'm not foolish enough to claim this as marked improvement.

I think 6-6 buys another year. The offense has made progress. The defense sucks. The players are starting to seem excited again.

I agree frez. I won't be back to K/S until we get new leadership. What a disaster of a coach. I love that 70 feels the need to say he's still in the thread, as if people cared.

Re: Fire Enos
I'm with you Frez,
Lets not forget, Radcliff was absolutely terrible again on Saturday. He reverted right back to the terrible QB we've seen for 3 years. Thankfully Tipton and Lavallii had a great day running the ball (thanks to a bad Miami D line).
This team is no better than it was 3 years ago, if we would have played Kent State, Ohio or Bowling Green all of those games would have been losses.
