So much to play for but I think Zac Dysert has a field day against our Dline and DBs.

i think that if radcliff doesnt throw any interceptions and our receivers can actually hang on to the ball we have a chance to win this.

Radcliff has only thrown 1 INT in the last 5 games. This should be a close game with CMU taking it.

Miami - 28

Perhaps everyone should be giving Radcliff his due for playing rather well these last 5+ games! He has been "responsible" for plenty of points for the Chips to win each of the last four games!

Right on DOC, I have been a bit critical of RR but you are correct, he has stepped it up and played very well.

As frustrating as Radcliff has been, he's having a pretty good year. His mistakes seem to come at the worst times (ie, Toledo game), but he's averaging 260 yards a game, has cut his INT's down to 7 and has only been sacked 11 times. Obviously he could improve his decision making and his completion percentage, but he deserves quite a bit of credit. With his passing numbers and an effective run game we really should be a lot better than we are. If this team had any type of defense we could easily be at 6 wins already. That's the really frustrating part. We've scored points, but we can't keep them off the board.

I've repeatedly defended RR on this board for the last 3 years.  While he could certainly be better, he has performed well enough that this team should have been able to put up a lot more wins than it has.  He shouldn't have to play perfectly to win, and he shouldn't have to put up 40 points to win a game either.  For whatever reason, he is the go to scapegoat for this team in the eyes of some.  I don't understand it.

Ryan Radcliff was very good in MAC games last year as well. He has been a good enough QB for us to compete to win the conference.

Re: Miami prediction thread

Look DOC, maybe we should stop being so critical of RR because we already knew what he was coming into 2012.  But I have seen the same mistakes over the last 3 years at the same critical moments.  He has never really had any pocket presence--is anyone else constantly yelling at their TV when RR is getting sacked from behind?  He is woefully inaccurate at times.  The bottom line is he is not very consistent.

The biggest problem I have with RR is this is a "crescendo year" so to speak.  When you've been grooming a QB for 3 years you expect things to line up in his senior year and really make a run at a conference title.  So if this is what Enos has been building for, what should we expect next year with a first time starter at the helm?

It will all start again next year, we have a young team, we have a fresh face at the qb position, he needs time to learn the system and get the speed of the game down,  and so on and so on.

Maybe, maybe not. If what others here have been saying about Cooper Rush is correct, he might already be more comfortable in the system -- and have better instincts -- then RR. Also, Kater and Niznak have been in the system long enough that their learning curves might not be problematic. I'd be more concerned about the OL next season, since we are losing three starters. frown

True, we will have to replace 3 OL men but we might see some of the OL guys who have yet to see much if anytime and are hopefully getting bigger , stronger and taking in what they can in practice and on the sidelines./

It's the defense, brah.  The defense is horrible.

I'm just gonna keep saying this over and over and over.  Please, people.  Stop blaming the quarterback.  Is he great?  No.  Is he good enough to win games with?  Obviously so.

RE: Miami prediction thread

I'm really not all that worried about the QB situation next year. I don't expect anyone to step in and be an All-MAC QB that first year, but whoever it is should be okay. We should have a pretty strong running game once again, and I like our group of receivers coming back. The OL might be an issue, but whoever steps in is going to have some weapons. Who knows, if it's Niznak or Kater they might contribute a lot in the running game with their mobility as well, so they might not have to do all that much.
