To move or not to move...

To move or not to move...

Well, I see our good friends at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette have finally stumbled across the hot topic of where the rematch with Mizzou will be played-- a subject which has now been bouncing around this board and news media outlets in Arkansas and a couple of other states for the better part of a month now.

Yep; you've got to get up pretty early in the morning to try and slip anything past those eagle eyes down at Capitol and Scott Streets...

My opinion...... that was by design.....The Democrap will only spin the negative about ASU and now its fodder for a few other boards as well.
So now we just sit back and let the obvious unfold! Chess not checkers

Haven't read it yet but from what I heard mayor didn't seem torn up about moving the game.

I did not think is was overtly negative.  If anything, it gave TMo another public chance to get our facility plans and goals out there in public.  He talks about wanting to keep the game but people needing to step up and help.  I would say the article was good press because it was free press.  I think Troy Schulte has given us the best coverage we have ever had out of the ADG.  Not saying I think ADG always does right by us, but it is much better than historical standards.  Go stAte!

Did they spell our name right? Have the right mascot? If so it was better than historical standards.

Re: To move or not to move...

If Miami were at Centennial this year, I don't think the move talk would grate so hard on me.
If it were at a venue where fans could have a good view of the game and nice amenities it wouldn't bother me so much.

I'm not a fan of playing in Little Rock either.

But money matters and if the only way to play a Miss State or Ole Miss or a Notre Dame or Alabama or Texas home and home would be to play in Little Rock, Memphis, Jackson, Dallas or St. Louis (depending on the team for each venue), I'll go for it.

If Terry were to announce tomorrow that we were playing Mizzou in Jonesboro in 2015 and he'd signed another two game deal with Mizzou that was Columbia/St Louis or Kansas City/St. Louis, I'd call it a good deal.

That's a trifecta!

Well, that's a left-handed compliment if ever I saw one...

I'm guessing they didn't mention in the article the fact that two major league cities are in a bidding war over us to play there while Little Rock wants us to pay them?

I'm sure he means well. My beef is not with him, but with his supervisors and with virtually all of the rest of the central Arkansas media (Sporting Life is about the only exception) who continually treat ASU as an afterthought--if they even bother to give us
any thought. The rule of thumb with them is, "So little news space and broadcast time; so many Razorback stories to do..."

Re: To move or not to move...

Agree. The lack of coverage for Sharika Nelvis is a classic example of all that.
