Keeper League 2010-11 Offseason

Posted: 12/1/2010 10:42 AM

Keeper League 2010-11 Offseason

Anyone up for some offseason trades?  The Cards making some deals have awoken me a bit.  And, heck, spring training is only 2.5 months away!

I am in desperate need of pitching.  Have some good, top line position players I'm willing to move for the right price.   Texiera, Wright, Zobrist, Swisher all available.

I am interested in offseason trades as well. I'm very busy until Spring Training (buying a house and getting married in the next six weeks) but I'll try to check in here somewhat often still.

I responded to your pm Phil.  I have some other guys I'm higher on than Carp (Cain, Hudson, Hamels), but see my pm for details.

We have agreed on a deal......I am sending Brett Anderson and Pedro Alvarez in exchange for David Wright and Jeff Francouer.

I need to trade one of Chris Carpenter, Matt Cain, or Cole Hamels. Any interest in any of the 3?

Confirmed Phil.  Darby will move Wright/Francouer for Alvarez/Anderson.

Yahoo Sports says I don't have any teams when I sign in.

I never used a direct link before so I don't have one saved...

Re: Keeper League 2010-11 Offseason

I'm able to look at my roster, but it doesn't indicate their position availability.  I know last year we based our keepers on their availability at the end of the prior season.  I assume we'll do the same this year?  But I'm not sure what's available, since it doesn't show on the roster, say if Zobrist is still available at SS, Doumit in LF, etc.?  I think he was at the end of last year, but I can't confirm it.  Does anybody know where we can check this?

I'll take a shot at my keepers for now, but they are sure to change.

C: Buck
1B:  Texiera (will trade)
2b:  Kendrick

SS: Zobrist (not sure he's still eligible here?)

3B: Alvarez (Traded Wright for him)

LF: Snider (will trade if Cuddyer has LF eligibility?)
CF:  Rios
RF:  Swisher (will trade)
SP:  Anderson

SP: Sanchez

CL: Capps

RP: Vargas

RP: Lyon

Available:

Position players:

-C Doumit
-1B Laroche
-CF Posednik
-RF/1B Garrett Jones
-RF/1B/3B Cuddyer

Pitchers:

-SP Dempster

-SP Mike Leake

-SP Galaragga

-SP/RP Happ

-SP Shields
-RP Rauch
-RP Romo
-SP Brandon Webb
-SP R. Wells

Re: Keeper League 2010-11 Offseason

Tentative:

C - Montero
1B - Votto
2B - Utley
SS - Aybar
3B - Polanco
LF - Gonzalez
CF - Stubbs
RF - Markakis

SP - Lester
SP - Cahill/Danks
CL - Feliz
RP - Hellickson
RP - Putz/Madson/Gonzalez/Francisco

Available:

I would trade Danks or Cahill.

I also have some solid reliever depth.  Madson, Putz, Gonzalez, Francisco, etc. all have value.

I would like to upgrade short or third, if possible.

Re: Keeper League 2010-11 Offseason

players are eligible at positions they were for the past year and the coming up year...so 2010..and the yet to be released position availability for 2011...minor league keepers (not in the Yahoo database) are available at any position they PLAYED even if for one inning while in the minors last year

if the player had the eligibility in 2010 they can be held as a keeper for that position

for example... Lance Berkman had LF position keeper potential for 2010 because he had the availability in 2009.but since he did not end up with that availability in 2010 he can not be held as a keeper for 2011 as LF

zobrist was available as SS last year so he woudl be fine for a keeper at SS this year...if he does not get SS position capability this year then he would not be able to be kept as SS for 2012

I would be interested in having some talks surrounding Josh hamilton and Carl Crawford and Jose Reyes. Not sure anything could be worked out, but if you have any interest in Hamilton, those are 2 players I have interest in. I love that speed. I'll leave yahoo messenger on for a few days. I don't have AIM anymore as a virus caused me to dump my hard drive.

My roster and keepers are being worked out now, I should post them later today.

yahoo messenger screen name is christrocker1983

Re: Keeper League 2010-11 Offseason

C - Geo Soto
1b - Prince Fielder
2b - Kelly Johnson
3b - David Wright
SS - Alexei Ramirez
LF - Josh Hamilton
CF - Matt Kemp
RF - Mike Stanton

non keeper offensive players......

Jeff Francoeur - acquired via david wright trade

Michael Young - likely to become eligible at multiple positions quickly this year including 3rd, 1st, and maybe some 2nd and SS even, and OF. Could be all over the diamond, and I need to move him since I have david Wright, OR I could move David Wright.

Vladimir Guerero - Is only turning 35, nice stop gap with full RF eligibilty for 2011.

Ryan Kalish

Pitchers keepers (subject to change)

SP - Cole Hamels/Chris Carpenter - (Leaning toward Cole Hamels)
SP - Matt Cain/Daniel Hudson (leaning toward Cain)
RP = Jhoulys Chacin/Johnny Venters - (Leaning toward Venters)
RP - Jose Valverde
RP - Francisco Cordero/

Non keeper pitching
Ervin Santana
Randy Wolf
Daniel Schlereth
Andrew Cashner
Jesse Crain
