Thanks for posting, Brian.  Terrible to see the layoffs papers have experienced in recent years.  As a country, we'll get what we pay for, and folks don't seem to willing to pay for people to investigate the world around them.

The traditional newspaper appears to be near the end of it's life cycle, as the electronic media has become the source of news and information for more and more people.

We (Denver) was one of the few two-paper towns until a few years ago with the Rocky Mountain News, which started back in the mid-1800s I believe, closed up shop.

Papers are worse in my opinion because they operate under the guise of credibility, even though, as in the case of the post, they obviously are not.

Brian Burwell has been floating by there for years with sub par writing, and reporting skills...

Hiya gray-

I guess I see credibility as more/less. No one is perfectly credible, all at least partially.  Papers on the whole have been losing credibility in recent years as market forces do them in.  That doesn't mean they were ever perfect.  They were just better twenty years ago than they are now.
