Are you sure it was by "accident", Okie?  Speaking of sunflower seeds, David & Sons used to be great when I was a kid, but now they pretty much suck.  The best I have seen are Fishers.  Just make sure that the shells are dark in color before you buy any pack of sunflower seeds.  I used to have this pal who ate both the peanuts and the shells....don't know how he did it?

David's spent too much time and money developing stupid flavors for their seeds.

I'm sorry but I don't need tropical-mango-shrimp-cocktail-flavored sunflower seeds.

Lightly salted is just fine...but I haven't had any in quite some time.  I used to eat thim all the time but my college team only bought the buckets of BBQ and Ranch flavors so I stopped eating them.

first of all, ranch flavored sunflower seeds are quite possibly the greatest invention of the past 50 yearstongue and were the only thing that got me off skoal wint-o-green....

second of all, i am borderline ocd as i wash may hands after i shake anyones and make sure never to touch my eyes mouth etc as much as possible....yet....i am guilty of eating peanuts with the disgusting dirty shells on, haha

I'm with Easton as far as seeds go - lightly salted for me. I can tolerate ranch or bbq if a buddy offers me a handful but I only buy plain ones.

Sunflower seed quality has really suffered the last decade or so with big brands doling out mass produced seeds. I guess I buy "Davids" because they are so widely available. I used to see a brand called "Giants" that were pretty good but I haven't run across a bag of them lately. Reggie Jackson also had a brand of seeds that weren't too bad.
