Joe Buck
Anybody else sick and tired of listening to the obnoxious Joe Buck broadcasting? He goes out of his way to trash the Cardinals, and his voice grates on me. Makes you appreciate all the more the Fox Sports Midwest Team of Horton/McLaughlin and the KMOX team of Shannon/Rooney. It's a shame because Jack Buck was such class.

Re: Joe Buck
I have no problem at all with Joe, and Tim as well. I wish Joe was back in the booth on FSMW for the St. Louis regular season games as well.

Re: Joe Buck
I really hate to trash anything Buck but this guy blows chunks. He makes no attempt to hide his dislike for the Cardinals which is strange enough but Joes smugness would bore a rock. Extremely disappointing from a guy who's dad was a St.Louis legend. Screw you Joe, a true hometown ass!
GO CARDS!

Joe is my least favorite broadcaster of all time, Rat.

Re: Joe Buck
Agreed.
Our Fox Midwest guys are a bit too much though. Ricky's idea of broadcasting is to talk and kiss butt as much as possible. I like a more unbiased approach, because I'm already a fan of the Cardinals. I don't need any help with that.

Re: Joe Buck
Everybody is entitled to his own opinion, I guess. (except those who like Joe Buck), but I think Ricky Horton does a terrific job, and he's a good guy, too.

Re: Joe Buck
I'll sum it up briefly this way. In his position, I would not expect Joe to be a total Cardinal homer. But, in remembrance and love for his father, I would expect him not to go out of his way to ridicule or find fault with the very thing that was Jack Buck's life.......besides his loving family of course.

RE: Joe Buck
I think the thing with Joe is he has an irrational fear people will think he's a Cards homer, and he's trying too hard to be like the east coasters in the industry.

Re: Joe Buck
Every year during post season time there are threads like these about how terrible the announcers are for any particular network or series. I really don't have a problem with most any announcer, as it's one of those high-profile jobs where they are being watched by millions of people. Now there are some I like better than others. The Rockies radio guys for example pretty much suck. But there is no way everyone will like a broadcaster's style or approach. I'm sure if I had millions of people watching me put together some sort of spreadsheet analysis for an upcoming meeting, there would be all sorts of comments like " does this guy even know how Excel functions work - that's the worst piece of garbage of an analysis I've ever seen" Joe, and McCarver too, always have a tough balancing act when they are assigned to Cardinal games. I'm sure they sometimes go a little overboard on their praise for the oppostion, but in last year's World Series Joe was quite complementary about the Cardinals resilience in that series. I've always thought that Joe and Tim broadcast these games in an attempt to be unbiased, while in their hearts they root for the Cardinals. But then these guys aren't like us where our loyalty stayed with one team. Joe's a national guy and McCarver played for several teams, and broadcast for other teams as well. So while we may want these guys to be on "our side", they've been part of other teams and other situations, so for us to expect them to show loyatly to the Redbirds is unrealistic.

Re: Joe Buck
cardinalnationhouston hit the nail on the head when he said its the "smugness" of Buck that's sickening. His knowledge of the game is ok. It's an arrogance that's way overboard.

Re: Joe Buck
I like Joe. I think he tries to come across as unbiased and he should. He has a sense of humor and I think that comes across wrong to come.
I have no feeling one way or another about Tim. He was traded away from the Cardinals so maybe that is an issue with him.

Re: Joe Buck
I like Joe Buck, he calls a good game and I don't see the "hate" for the Cards that others do. He does go out of his way to be unbiased, but he also offers good knowledge on the players and the organization.

This is it exactly. I'm not normally one to hate on announcers. For the most part I think they do a fine job. But Buck in particular rubs me the wrong way for this very reason.
