RE: Jay vs Rasmus
Jay's trajectory is upward while Colby's has gone flat. Flatlined more like. But I hope he puts it together and I wish him well. Jay really has started coming into his own this year, getting very aggressive while still finishing with 0 errors for the regular season. Nice jump in OBP as well coinciding with his move to leadoff man.

RE: Jay vs Rasmus
i never really liked jay (part of it is because he went to the U and i'm a husker fan... natural dislikes there) but he's grown on me a lot.
honestly given our team makeup i think he's a better player for us than rasmus. he gives a different look than the other hitters, plays a very solid center and gets on base for all the other mashers we have.
it isn't a coincidence that when jay came back early in the year our offense improved immensely.
maybe a rasmus with his head on straight would be better but i'm happy with jay and frankly he's more than good enough to be a CFer for dang near any team in baseball.

Jay has a hell of a lot of upside compared to Rasmus, and he's not a head case. Just sayin'

Just sayin' Its hard to argue with Rasmus's tools, but at this point it seems unlikely he will put them to use consistently. Flashes of brilliance with a lot of disappointing play in between. Sort of reminds me of Ankiel in his outfielder days. Jay seems to be finding ways to make his tools do more than they should. I am especially impressed with the way he took on the lead off role. Really upped his OBP. We needed that bad.

Re: Jay vs Rasmus
Jay just reminds of that one guy I'm sure most of us knew in high school. He was that guy who just did everything well. He played every sport and was good for one or two spectacular plays a year in each sport. He was never the star, but he was just really good at what he did do. This guy was also usually very underrated by everyone in high school at how good an athlete he actually was. Whereas, Colby, would be the starting quarterback who ends up getting a DUI just before homecoming letting down the whole school. Then whose parents end up blaming the school for him getting a DUI and not getting to play.

Re: Jay vs Rasmus
Jay has been turned out to be diamond in the rough and he has room to grow. It took a lot of nerve to move Colby and replace him with Jay. However, it as proven to be on heck of a move!

Indeed, if all of my wildest dreams were to suddenly magically come true, being able to get a healthy dose of posts from the hand of 1964 vs the paltry few that he presently doles out to us, would be at the very top of that coveted wish list. Out of respect to his father, I've been hesitant to express my thoughts on a Jay-Rasmus comparison. But since it appears that RCW has ridden off into the wild blue yonder never to be heard from again, I must say that I wouldn't take 10 Rasmus' for one Jay.
