AND, it keeps you captured on that screen to add insult to injury.

I switched over to the Recruiting site, earlier and it, too, was frustrating.  For that matter, they may be exacting a subscription fee before allowing access to the data that was free, previously.

RE: New site trouble

I am not sure I understand the problem. What happens after you accept the terms of use?

Regarding the Recruiting site, I have nothing to do with that and am not familiar with their plans. It may not be accurate to assume there are fee-free changes on day one of a conversion when there are a number of bugs being worked out.

I have been posting additional information regarding the new site on the thread pinned to the top of this board. Please ensure you check there. For example, some have been having userid/password issues that are based on case sensitivity that is being enforced for the first time on the new board.

There is no box or button to "accept" the terms of use.  There is no way to get past the page to accept the terms of use.

Thank you for clarifying. I have sent a request for help to support. This sounds like a widespread enough problem that I hope they have seen it and have a workaround.

RE: New site trouble

In the meantime, will those having trouble with the accept terms box, please report what browser and release of it you are using?

In the thread at the top of the board, last month I noted that old releases of some browsers will not work properly with the new site and provided links to browser upgrades.

Here it is again.

One tip I have been given is that old versions of the Internet Explorer browser (IE7 and earlier) do not support many of the new features of the site. Now would be a good time to upgrade to a more modern browser. For example:

firefox 13.0

due to trouble at new place and the fact the functionality is still fine here, i humbly request the wildcard topic be unlocked due to good chance the fixes for the new place will not go into effect before the game begins.

Like so many of these problems, they seem to be affecting different users differently. I was told initially that the terms of service problem is unique to IE, but cardzZilla is using Firefox.

Their interim recommendation is for the IE users encountering this problem to use Firefox and the Firefox users to upgrade to the current level, 15.0.

Has anyone else been unable to reply/start a new topic?  Whenever I click on the "reply" or "new message" buttons, I'm re-directed to the fox sports next home page.  I'm using Chrome.

RE: New site trouble

While getting the real terms of service fix is definitely on the list of the support team, I am told it is not at the top in terms of seriousness.

On trying to get past it on an interim basis, here is another approach. I was told that if IE users do not want to install Firefox, if they can just log on once using a different computer with either a newer Firefox or a different IE to get past the terms of service approval the first time, they can use IE on their regular computer as normal to access the forum. In other words, the terms of service are presented just once.

Please try logging off and back on and see if that helps. Sometimes it appears that even though a user is logged on (based on what is shown at the upper right), the user is not really being recognized.

In this case, it won't let you reply or comment because it thinks you are just a non-registered user, not signed in.

That is great.

For all, I encourage you to post exclusively on the new site if you are able. There is no assurance how long the old forum here will remain active.

The main site is loading either slowly or not at all. The message boards are working, though some users are having to work at getting properly logged in to be able to post. It is unfortunate, but that is the current status. I know apologies aren't enough for the subset of folks having trouble getting in.

Significant progress has been made overnight in fixing the site speed, stability and content flow issues. It is not out of the woods yet, but there is noticeable improvement in the biggest problems affecting site and new message board access.

RE: New site trouble

i dont see a difference in site speed.

got past the ability to accept terms of use...not that it matters. i click new topic or reply and i'm redirected to the main fox sports next page.

since this place is still operational, i'm staying here until everything smoothed at (at least the speed and my ability to post) is fixed.

That means you are not really logged in, despite it indicating you are at the upper right. You will need to try to log out and back in again, perhaps on several different pages. This problem has been reported and is being worked on, I am told.
