Would the real Adam Wainwright please stand up! I know he has an absolutely tremendous excuse, but it just is pretty darn tough to get used to his pitching inconsistencies, after having spoiled us all of those years with his superb play. The return of Carp to the rotation had to excite the Cardinals in two ways. The first is obvious and the second reason being that having Carp out there plying his trade on the hill has to have a positive effect on all of the younger hurlers.....especially if he does well. Rosenthal and Miller should both gain a full year of experience in only a couple months by rubbing elbows with a Chris Carpenter.

You have to believe that our Redbirds are going to make life miserable for Jackson and his Nats in this particular game. Let's call this one 9-3 Cards.

What appears to be an innocuos, if optimistic score prediction, actually highlights the key to replicating last years run to #11. The pitching has settled in, but they won't be the driving force towards B2B banners. Although 2013 has a chance to be the franchise's signature season in ERA, The young guns are a bit raw and the vets are too near to surgery to dominate October, 2012. Holliday and Beltran need to stumble into one of their hot streaks to win 12 games this postseason, and crushing Nats and Reds pitching would be a great trend heading into the innagual WC showdown. Yes sir, 9-3 victories need to be the calling card of this team. We are over half way there after one

Love MCarp in the 2 hole. Freese has his hot streaks, but no one since el hombre has consistently taken great ABs each time up

I had a brief moment of intense anguish when I noticed my poster profile places me on the the Peoria Chiefs roster. I was afraid I was traded to the damn cubs until A visit to Wikipedia reassured me that the Cardinals were caught in a Midwest league reshuffling and my faith in the gods of baseball has been restored. I can't put into words the existential agony I felt at the thought of being banished to that pitiful fandom for eternity. I wonder how Mather felt.
