I think that just about does it for this game. It seems like we can never come back late in games. At least the Pirates and Braves lost.

Grandal had a chance to hit a grandsalami there, but Marte whiffed him. But the damage was done that frame as the Pads tacked on a couple more to make it 8-3 heading to the 8th.

If we do indeed lose this one, it still will sting knowing that we could have picked up ground on those teams presently nipping at our heels. We may need a little more distance between them and us heading into that 4 game series in LA, BuckNut.

Freese just got plunked at the plate for the second consecutive time. He must feel like he's sitting up high in one of those dunking tanks at the State Fair where everyone and their grandmother is gunning for you.

Don't be surprised if Marte plays a little chin music with at least one of these batters this inning.



And there it is as he nails Maybin....wait, I guess he didn't...yeah, they are calling it a walk, but Maybin sure is glaring out there at Marte....and now Matheny is coming to get his young reliever...maybe he's mad at Marte for not hitting him?

Winning is nice, but if we can't like tonight, it's good to know our competition did as well. I hope we can split with LA but I feel really bad about that series.

You know I totally disagree with the Padre announcer who just referred to this one as a "laugher"(it's 11-3 now). If it's a "laugher", then why do I have tears starting to mist?

How nice would it be to have Octavio Dotel in the mix right about now?  I was very upset to see him go during the off season.

Big night for Kozma as he just doubles, leaving him just a dong short of the cycle. Who knows, maybe we lay an 8 spot on them this inning, sending it to extra frames anf then Pete wins it for us in the 11th with a long one?  Dotel was money, PPP.

I've said it a million times. Mo should have given him the going rate. Instead we Got Marte and Scott F$#@$/g Linebrink.

I still can't believe we are seeing Marte in a Cards uniform.  It was funny at first, in a sadistic way.  Now it is just really annoying.
