Time for the annual The Cardinal Nation community vote for its top prospects!

For those of you new to The Cardinal Nation let me explain how this works.   For the 7th consecutive year TheCardinalNation.com user community has developed their own end of season prospect list.  It is a "top 50", well, because that's what we decided on at the time.  It is different than the "top 40' list that is put together by The Cardinal Nation staff in that this is done by a community vote.   The process is basically we start with choosing the number 1 prospect and after approximately a 48 hour period we will tabulate the votes, declare who the #1 prospect is and then repeat the process in choosing the subsequent prospects.   People are free (even encouraged) to cordially editorialize and try to influence others as this has the effect of educate all of us about the particular merits of a prospect.

Players eligible will include all players in the Cardinals system that have not either pitched more than 50 innings in the majors or has more than 130 major league at bats.

I'm honored, CC. However, I think it would be in the best interest of this thread if I did not take over the moderational duties until Pick #26, just like last year. What I would like to see is you(Carioca) handle Picks #1-5 and then one of our other esteemed posters take over with Picks #6-25. And then, if I haven't been banned by the time we have concluded Pick #25, I would relish the opportunity to take us home with Picks #26-50. All interested candidates should fire off a PM to Carioca ASAP.

can i vote some random schmuck #1 just to break up the monotony of seeing taveras for the next 20 votes? j/k

My vote for number one is Kolten Wong. I would also encourage a vote for the top 50 for Jeremy Schaffer. He lead the Appy league in doubles and rbi. He is a kid that has a big future with the cards.
