I'd like to see Ankiel as a lefty reliever but that's not gonna happen.

Re: Former Cardinals sign deals
Thought I would resurrect this thread as a good place to share a photo P.J. Walters posted from the Twins Fan Fest. For those who have not had the pleasure of meeting 3up3down25 as I have, here is a sharp photo of proud papa and son.

Enjoy it while you have it, PJ.

RE: Former Cardinals sign deals
Corey Patterson is still trying to hang on. He signed a minor league deal with the Mets. He last played in the majors with the 2011 Cardinals and spent all last season at Triple-A for the Brewers.

Rich Hill (Memphis 2010) signed a minor league deal with Cleveland. Last year he pitched in 5 different levels in the Red Sox minor league system, as well as in Boston.

RE: Former Cardinals sign deals
Many will remember that PJ Walters and his wife had a baby girl named Annabelle who was born prematurely and didn't survive. She touched a LOT of lives while she was here, though. Today would have been her birthday. I'll be praying for the family as they spend today remembering her time here.

Re: Former Cardinals sign deals
Izzy is apparently retiring for good, as he has been announced as a pitching coach at SIUE.

RE: Former Cardinals sign deals
Now hearing Izzy says he is not retired. He is throwing and working out as he coaches, and is hoping for another shot with an MLB team.

RE: Former Cardinals sign deals
Decided to check out the site & ran across this, thank you everyone for the kind words & prayers..the cardinal family will always be part of our lives.. Pj is competing for a spot in the rotation along with 3 others, he was taken off the 40 man after the seson because of concerns with his shoulder, his 1st injury ever, he really was getting his shot last year before he went down with the injury,he is healthy now & has been pitching well, if he continues to pitch well he will get another chance, either out of camp or in the season at some point.....he will be in pitching in Jupiter tomorrow following the starter, I know he is looking forward to seeing all the guys ..I always pull for the cards but tomorrow I will have to root on the twins at least for the 2-3 innings pj pitches & I know you guys are pulling for him too.....and yes pj will definitely loose his hair just like his dad...
