Jordan Swagerty

Are there any updates on his status?  Still hoping he pitches for the Cards someday. Thx.

Come on, DT. That article is dated May 13. How about an update? Has he starting throwing yet? If not, then when is he expected to start throwing? Swags was really good but only for a short time. If is arm is okay structurally, then its still possible that he could help some day.

Re: Jordan Swagerty

So to repeat the good question that was asked, is there any UPDATE ON JORDAN SWAGERTY from anybody? News from extended spring training is pretty old, wouldn't you say?

Re: Jordan Swagerty

No. I believe he had to have another surgery because of bone spurs in his elbow. The guy wrotes a blog for MILB so that should be more up to date than anything.

He hasn't posted anything since spring training.  IMO he's done.

Hope not but it's very possible.  Not sure if the second surgery i.e. the bone spurs had anything to do with the TJ surgery or he just needed cleaned out.

Re: Jordan Swagerty

Not sure why there is such impatience. Folks tried to share what they knew. If you want to address questions to me specifically, it is better to do so on the members board. In this case, to be honest, I hadn't checked lately. After all, not a lot of guys are throwing just 90 days after elbow surgery, especially multiples, which is what we are talking about here. I would be very, very pleasantly surprised if he is pitching in instructs this fall, but I will do my best to get an update for members by that point. Until proven otherwise, I am not going to be overly optimistic.

Re: Jordan Swagerty

He didn't have TJ surgery this time, and it's reasonable to wonder how he is progressing. No need for the smugness regarding this point. Also, we have heard absolutely nothing concerning new shortstop Andrew Sohn, who had an elbow injury I'm sure LaRocque has answers to those questions…..that is if you can get him to say anything worthwhile. (sure miss John Vuch)

Vuch was assigned a different position in the organization.

Re: Jordan Swagerty

Sorry if you think it is smug, but at least I am not typing in caps!  ;-) Seriously, I just shared my point of view. At this time of the season, I am more focused on guys with a chance to play this year. Like I said, I will have a more comprehensive injury update this fall based on rehabbers at or not at instructs. In this specific case, just my opinion, but the observations that Swagerty has completely stopped talking publicly about baseball offers an interesting point for speculation.

Working mostly with the Baseball Ops side rather than Player Development. Follow this link to view current front office.

He was great with the Player development. Not really sure why they needed to change things.

Somewhere I have heard it speculated that it had to do with keeping him happy here rather than seeing him go elsewhere.
