This game starts at 2:40pm CT. The trade deadline is 3:00pm CT. If we trade someone that is currently on the active roster right before the deadline would the team have to play short handed this game or will someone be on standby from Memphis? Logistics could be a problem.

Last chance to get things right before Milwaukee comes to town. Hope the offense wakes up and brings home some hot bats. Also hope Shelby Miller can build on an encouraging performance in Chicago and have another nice game himself.

My Captain Obvious rant here - but the club really needs to get this one today. Being outscored 15-2 by a poor San Diego club is humiliating.

One game does not a season make, or even one series. But a win today would give the team some sense of momentum and confidence despite losing the series.

agreed, mike.  hoping shelby can build on the solid start he had at chicago last time out.

Carpenter, Wong, Holliday, Adams, Peralta, AJP, Taveras, Bourjos, Miller is your lineup today.

Swap Bourjos and Miller's spots in the batting order and you're looking at my everyday preference (with Molina in there when he's ready, of course). No more messing around, these guys just have to get it done from here on out.

We traded for Masterson so I assume he will be activated is the additional pick-up, unless they want to wait until Saturday for him.

Nice lineup. I was half-expecting them to put Jay and Bourjos in there instead of Taveras.

You are probably right, but I'd rather see Martinez sent to Memphis to try and work out his problems which are quite evident right now.

Count me in the Martinez to AAA when Masterson is ready.  Rotation of Waino, Lynn, Lackey, Masterson, Miller.  Bullpen of Rosenthal, Neshek, Motte, Maness (R), Siegrist, Choate, Freeman (L).  Let Martinez work on his secondary pitches for a bit.  Then he's available if the need arises for a starter and Wacha isn't yet ready. And if no starter is needed Martinez can replace Motte on the postseason bullpen (assuming Motte doesn't turn it around before then).

Anyone been talkign about maybe moving Carpenter to the 3rd spot?

I kind of want him in that spot with the way the team isnt hitting...Jay has been hitting well and so has Wong...i think we could move him back a bit...something has to change maybe it woudl spark the team

perhaps go...:

Jay, Jhonny, Carp, Holliday, Adams, Taveras, AJ, Wong

so many lefties....a trade for Tulo would be nice right about now. :P

DTF-

Thanks.  I took on some extra responsibilities at work last year that got superbusy March through June. Then just when things were settling down a cool opportunity showed up that needed to be tackled quick.  So I cut back a bit on baseball.  Hope to be around more now.

Wrong again! You are consistent if nothing else. Martinez has one of the better arms on the team so let's put him in AAA. eek1 He will be a weapon in the bullpen. You heard it here first.
