The 9 month old son of Brewer shortstop Jean Segura died yesterday.  According to Yahoo Sports/MLB he was told after the game.  He is off to the Dominican and now on the Bereavement List.

No details of how the child died, but I did see a report that said Segura's wife was at the game last night. This is very sad, thoughts and prayers with Segura today.

Even if he's not a Redbird you have to feel for anyone who loses a child that young.

Something parents shouldn't have to go through. Hope Mr. Segura and his family get the strength and the support to get through this.

Kolten Wong is showing some power. His sixth HR a two-run shot makes it 5-0 Cards in the second.

I rather have Bourjos batting 8th taking defense over offense. I have no issues with Jay playing just not at CF.

I seems like its been awhile since Adam got to pitch with a 5 run lead, at least this early.

so... how many of us thought we'd be in first place by now 2 months ago?  looking pretty likely at this point.

i'll admit i thought it would take a bit longer if it happened.   milwaukee's been so terrible lately.

I didn't think we'd catch up until the last couple weeks of the season.

Wainwright is keeping his pitch count down, going for the complete game.  He is a master.

Waino is just amazing and what a difference to see a couple of guys actually hitting. Let's get a sweep tomorrow.

Re: 2014 MLB game #95: Cards at Brewers: Sat 7/12

The turnaround from last night is remarkable. Milwaukee was crushing us, our pitching injuries looked like they had caught up to us, and the Brewers were showing everyone they are the top dog.

Then it all changed with that comeback and has continued today. We showed Milwaukee we are right with them even when we are hobbled and have taken their best punch. Look out for when we get healthy and shore up a few spots. Plus, we're starting to hit, so that could really change things.

This is awesome to see.

Listening to XM, today, the broadcast team claimed this was the reason the media was not allowed into the Brewers locker room after the game (6-7 loss after being up 6-0).  If true, that reflects very negatively on the Brewer organization.  IMO, they should have separated the two events and dealt with them separately (rather than "bundle them").
