It's a new day. Toronto has been pretty good so far, especially at the plate. I don't know this SP for them, but his ERA suggests he's hittable. The Jays will be tough, but let's see how we do.

Stroman is a rookie, so the Cards have no at bats against him.

Navarro 1-5 .200, 1 BB

Encarnacion 0-1 .000, K
Francisco 1-8 .125, 2 RBI, 4 K

Reyes 0-1 .000
Lind 0-1 .000
Tolleson 0-0 .000
Bautista 0-1 .000

Stroman is a top prospect. I saw him pitch in the Arizona Fall League and he was impressive. Smallish build.

Cards are lucky they got a W from the Royals are they would be looking at a Red Sox type losing streak ahead of them

How Houston could have passed on this guy remains a monumental mystery....if by name only.

I see Colby has not been playing the last couple of weeks. He has to be kicking himself for missing this series. Anyone know how long he's going to be on the shelve?

Didn't Toronto come into our yard and spank us recently(over the past 2 years)? Well time to get some rev....(cough cough)....pardon me....I was about to say that it was time for our Cardinals to gain some revenge, but then I forgot that this 2014 doesn't do the revenge thing....it just doesn't motivate them like it would your normal quality team.

The way things are going, this looks like an easy 2 of 3, for Toronto. And they are also probably thinking they have an opportunity for a sweep.

We keep wondering when the Cardinals will be more "Cardinal-like". Maybe it starts this weekend, but so far we have not seen a lot of bite in these birds.

Matt Carpenter won't let 'em sweep us.

Need the "other" Matt to step up...

Maybe James Ramsey--the one rumored to be on our Springfield roster--will make a surprise appearance in the lineup at CF tonight.  Afterall, can't have too many CF'ers on a roster, can we.  Can we???

Taveras in the two hole. Wooooooo. I don't see why Descalso should be hitting in front of Cruz at all.

I don't why he should be playing at all. Put Ellis in at least he can play defense.

For Cardinal fans to have to watch this lineup is discouraging.  It should be nicknamed, "the lineup that never hurt anyone."

Sounds like Wong is out for a few days due to the sore shoulder.

Having the DH is nice here, as Yadi can get a rest while still getting to hit. And Oscar at 2 is intriguing. I thought we should have let him stay in and try to steal 2B last night instead of using Grichuk, but it all worked out the same.

As is our custom, the first "yea" or "nay" will decide the fate of PBP for this evening's Birds-Birds game.

Let the records show that the "yeas" have it in Waino(shutout) style.....and with only 26 minutes to spare. Anyone care to join me in the booth on this fine Friday evening?

Thanks MAP!
