Speaking of PBP, i am curious about Pugs and Buck.  Which one equates to which here?

Pugs = Harry

Buck = Jack

or

Pugs = Jack

Buck = Harry

I assume Buck goes with Jack Buck so that makes Pugs old Harry.

I could never be mentioned in the same breath as Mr. Buck.

Match-up of two of these two organizations most promising young arms. What will be more exciting is to see Oscar Taveras tee off against Ventura but with it being draft day I am putting all my attentions towards the First-Year Player Draft that starts off tonight.

Cardinals have no ABs vs Ventura.

Royals vs Michael Wacha (0-0 1.29 ERA vs Kansas City)

Hayes 0-0 .000
Perez 0-0 .000
Ciriaco 0-0 .000
Escobar 0-3 .000
Hosmer 0-3 .000
Infante 0-0 .000
Moustakas 0-2 .000
Aoki 0-0 .000
Cain 1-3 .333, 2B, K
Dyson 0-0 .000
Gordon 0-3 .000, K
Butler 0-0 .000

EXTREMELY small sample size with Wacha only making one start, but he dominated from what I remember.

I think your first one is correct, Rats. Pugs is Harry - sort of gregarious, outgoing, a bit over the top at times.

BuckNut is Jack, professional, more of a dry wit, can compliment or lead depending on the situation.

Can't go wrong with either guy, and when you've got both, you're thankful for being able to experience the moment.

Reds on the verge of losing.  They trail the Giants 6-1 in the 9th at Great American Ballpark.

I really like what Bourjos did yesterday in his final plate appearance. That steal in front of Carpenter was a thing of beauty. With Carpenter's approach, I'd love to see both Wong (1st) and Bourjos (9th) ahead of him for the AL games.

I hope he starts today. Jay looked good too though, even if he swung at seven balls before hitting that single to left.

Grichuk wouldn't be a terrible start either with Ventura's weaker off-speed pitches (although he has done really well with them thus far this year)

I think Grich would be the one I'd start over Jay. Need to figure out if we are sending him down when Adams gets back too.

That's probably the best lineup that we can put out there.

Re: 2014 MLB game #62: Cards at Royals: Thu 6/5

Thanks to Rat and BicycleMike for the kind sentiments. It would be a dream......oh a dream come true, for Buck and I to give you guys the real McCoy with audio, just like the real PBP guys. Maybe within the next year this can be arranged. I think you all would be quite surprised. That's all BuckNut and I would need....one PBP exhibition affair in Springfield as a tuneup and then we'd be good to go for a game in St. Louis. This evening we have a very special treat in store for you. It's the wily BuckNut on tap calling the Cardinal at bats and our esteemed new man in the booth, Big11, calling the KC at bats.....which we hope will number under 34 plate appearances. So just grab a few cold ones, slap on your Cards cap and jersey, kick back and be ready to be entertained as our Cardinals return the favor and sweep these guys in their own park.

Sorry, I jumped the gun there before seeing my assignment for PBP. I'll take KC's at bats. Things went really well last night when I did those before I had some technical glitches.

Great Big11! You were slated to call the KC at bats, but if BuckNut isn't in the house, then please call the Cardinal at bats. I have the night off as I am giving a speech over at the local Moose Lodge in just over 30 minutes.

Re: 2014 MLB game #62: Cards at Royals: Thu 6/5

Bottom 1. The Cards' representative of the young pitching phenom match up tonight, Michael Wacha, takes the mound. He has just 4 wins, but a lot of that has been some bad luck and a stretch of poor run support.

Aoki back in the leadoff spot for KC tonight. Oh my, on Yadi's toss back to Wacha, he accidentally hits Aoki in the head where Aoki's helmet doesn't have an ear guard. Aoki goes down, but is okay. Yadi is really having a tough stretch. Aoki grounds one to short, where Peralta circles it and throws him out.

Infante follows Aoki with a grounder to Peralta, who scoops it and tosses to first for the second out.

Hosmer chops one to Carp for the third groundout of the inning. Nice quick start for Wacha.

I have never seen that before Yadi plunks Aoki right on the helmet when returning the ball to Wacha. ouch

Yadi needs more days off than he is getting and they should be in addition to the team's days off.

Top 2

Oscar Taveras hits a lazy fly ball in to left field for the first out.

Jhonny Peralta strikes out looking at a curve ball on the outside corner. Two out.

Jon Jay laces a base hit in to shallow left-center.

Peter Bourjos drills it in to right center field! Cain tries to cut it off but is unable to get to it and it will go to the wall. Jay scores and Bourjos cruises in to third with an RBI triple!

Carpenter grounds out to second. wow. this guy can't buy a hit. lets trade him to the Marlins. Three down.

Cards 1 Royales 0
