Lineup: Jay 8, Wong 4, Holliday DH, Peralta 6, Descalso 5, Moore 3, Grichuk 7, Taveras 9, Cruz 2.

Other pitchers available: Lyons, Cooney, Maness, Rondon and from minor league camp, Alex Reyes and Sam Tuivailala.

Reserve hitters available: Ortega, Garcia, O'Neill, Scruggs, Easley, Tartamella, Kelly and from the minors, Steve Bean, Breyvic Valera and Tommy Pham.

Could be worth staying with it to watch the later innings. Hoping the SNY broadcast team, which is very good, brushes up on the Cards' "minor league guys."

This looks like the game to watch between the two with Wong, Grichuk, and Taveras going and Martinez pitching.

Wong gets a hit! Line drive back up the middle off a fastball. Nice hit, similar to the contact he was making last game. This one just found a hole. Then Wong steals second.

Holliday hits a hard ground ball through a hole and Wong comes around to score. Great jump and slide by Wong, by the way, on the steal. The catcher made a nice throw but Wong just beat him.

Moore leaves Holliday and Descalso on the corners, the inning ends after 1 run and three hits. All just hard hits that found holes in the defense.

Martinez looks good after one. Two groundouts and a flyout. Nothing hit to Taveras yet.

Top 2: 'chuk strikes out looking, Taveras hits an 0-2 pitch to deep right center that Granderson can't track in the wind and sun and Oscar is standing on second with a nice double. Molina flies out to center. Murphy mishandles a hard grounder from Jay, who beats out the throw while Oscar advances to third. Wong up to bat with men on first and third, two out...

Wong hit a ground rule double to center, Taveras scored, Jay to third.

Wong hitting in Taveras..... I have a feeling it will usually be the other way around the next 6 years.

Wong hits a ground rule double to score a run, maybe got a little help from the wind and sun as Taveras did. Nice hard hit ball by Wong though. That's two hits now for Kolten.

Another hard hit from Holliday, this one hits the umpire in the back. Holliday is awarded a single but the baserunners aren't allowed to advance. Peralta hits one to deep left but Young catches it at the warning track. Inning over.

I disappeared for a bit and missed a little action. Looks like Cruz threw somebody out at second, although the umpire made the wrong call and the Mets chose not to challenge.

Cruz reaches on an error, Jay grounds out and Cruz advances. Wong grounds out to pitcher, Cruz advances again. With two out and a man on third, Holliday singles to drive in a run. Easley replaces Holliday as a pinch runner. Peralta rips one just foul along the third base line before striking out swinging.

After 3.5, Cards lead 4-0.

Cooney replaces Martinez, walks his first batter. Descalso and Wong combine to turn a nice double play. Looked like maybe Wong caught a spike from Murphy who was sliding in to second (nothing intentional). Both Wong and Murphy are okay. With two out and none on, Cooney walks another. Cruz pays a visit to the mound and Cooney gets his man Young to pop up after a long battle.
