I'll be the first to log a prediction. Lackey struggles, no one blames it at all on his very odd relief appearance in game 4, and the Cards triumph 5-2 as Matt Adams homers. Twice.

The Cards have set up a great dramatic comeback opportunity.

No one can argue with your optimism even in the face of reality.

Are the Pirates the only team to ever win the last two game of the world series away?

Detroit and the Yankees have done it also but the 1979 Pirates I think are the last team to win the series winning the last 2 games away at Baltimore. 34 yrs.

I think Wacha wins and we get a shot at Game 7. W need to go with Descalso at short tonight.

Cards did it in 1934 in Detroit. Down 3-2, Paul Dean won Game 6 and Dizzy Dean won Game 7.

The 1942 Cards went into Yankee Stadium having split the first two games (losing Game 1 and winning Game 2) and won all three games to tke the Series in 5.

I thought the '91 Twins did, but they won at the metrodome in game 6 & 7.

Kind of a flawed stat though due to rarely needing a World Series game 7 and generally I would think the better team won already and there wasn't a need for a couple road wins.

Near as I can tell, the Cards have won the WS on the road only three times... 1934, 1942 and 1967. The other 8 WS wins were clinched at home, including the last three.

Should note that the last time we won the Series on the road (1967) it happened at Fenway Park. A good sign, perhaps?

Hard to see that with how pitiful his at-bat looked last night. I'd love to see it though. I think he is pressing too much right now. I did like how Freese took that Lester pitch opposite field in the 8th. I hope he continues that tomorrow as I think he is due for a big game.

Holliday with a .714 slugging percentage. Not too shabby I'd say....

The funny thing about that relief appearance by Lackey was how lacking (!!) his stuff was. Jay and Freese were a little too amped up that inning and played into the whole thing unfortunately....Jay especially.

Not flawed at all. It is the situation we face. The last time a team won a world series by winning the last 2 games away was 1979. This is also the last time a road team won a game 7. I think it time to take that "honor" away from the Pirates. If Wacha pitches well and we win I like our chances a lot in game 7.

Historical view: The Cards have trailed 3-2 in six prior World Series, forcing a Game 7 and winning Game 7 five of those times.

You are concerned about Mike's choice between Kozma (WS BA .000) and Descalso (WS BA .000)?  Really?

No kidding.  That 's a choice between two equally bad hitters, one of whom is also a terrible shortstop.  I know which one I'd pick.

We could always DH for the SS and let the pitcher hit.  It might be a better lineup that way.

Give Wacha some extra BP and let's do it.

October 12, 1967.  I was in 3rd grade.  Mrs. Bradley let us listen to the final inning.

By the way, with the big smile on Gibson's face, whats he got ahold of anyway???
