clock is ticking......can't go 0-2

Wacha has been better than Waino for about a month, obviously...Waino has run out of gas or he hasn't been the same since October started.....

very sloppy game....wonderful that is was just 1 game....

if Wacha doesn't win tonight, well it is very "slippery slope"
(all but the fat lady...singing)...Beltran injury puts a premium on Oscar next season....need to sign Betran and great catch saving another grand slam, but costly injury....but cards need of zero injuries.....

clock is ticking......can't go 0-2

Wacha has been better than every pitcher on earth for about a month now so I would also expect that to include Wainwright

despite(!!!!)

Wainwright having a 1.13 ERA in two games versus Pittsburgh and a 2.57 ERA in two games against Los Angeles. I wish all our pitchers "run out of gas" in a similar fashion.

Do you people watch the same effing games that I do? You can't be this dense with your short term memory.

The way you approach this is that as bad as last night was, it was only one game. Whether you lose 8-1 or 2-1, it only counts as one.

Got to go out and relax, and play your game tonight. This is an excellent Cardinal team and there is no reason we can't split these first two.  Hopefully Wacha will be on his game tonight and we'll be able to put some runs on the board against Lackey.

Looking ahead, you've got to start Shelby Miller at some point don't you? How can you leave him rusting in the bullpen with the year he had? It's looking almost like we're replaying the mistake Washington made with Strasburg last year, we just waited a month longer. You never know when you're going to get a shot at a ring, so you can't play scared.

scared...Cardinals look/played scared

Can't bench Waino, sadly.....
but it looks like he could use some time off (at the wrong time)

without Oscar T, the Carlos Beltran injury is glaring...
I don't know Allen Craig is ready for Outfield duty...we should know, shortly....

what a pitiful game.....little league effort...scared...Cardinals look/played scared

I don't know what games they watch. I am not sure why they even watch they complain about everything.

I say start him instead of Freese. It couldn't hurt.

I totally agree. No way I start the erratic head case Lance Lynn ahead of Miller. DD has to start on the left side of the infield somewhere. Red Sox are patient. I fear they are going to try and sit on the change up tonight. We shall see.

By the way, before Pugs asks, just wondering what the forecast is for Fenway tonight?

Upper 40s with euphoria and confidence at game time, folllowed thereafter by scattered doubt, gloom and dispair.  By last pitch temps lower 40s with reality and the agony of defeat setting over the region by midnight.

Once again i must disagree! It has just occured to me that i would have been great at "Hollywood squares". For those of you that don't know what that is just ask Ratsbuddy. He probably owns the DVD's. tongue I believe Lynn can stymie these guys if he has his best fastballs. Lynn is just eratic enough to negate the Boston "wait em out" approach. Besides there must be something more going on with Miller IMO.

I'll take Charley Weaver for the block.

That reminds me... The host of Hollywood Squares was Peter Marshall. His son hit a grand slam in 1975 during Bob Gibson's final inning on the mound.

I always thought Danny Cox was the son of Wally Cox.  Upper left on Hollywood Squares.

Who is Pete LaCock, JMo. Ex-cubs 1st baseman. Hey.....Brian LaHair is an ex-cubs 1st baseman too. If those guys come up with a 1st baseman with the last name "LaBalls" in our lifetime, wouldn't that be a hoot? Too bad the two that we know of royally sucked. If all 3 would have been superstars, they one day could have had their uniform numbers retired by the cubbies. Just picture those individual banners waving in the soft Wrigley breeze .... LaBalls, LaHair and LaCock.....all appropriately arranged together on the scoreboard.
