I have to go with Liriano and a stoked fan base as Cincinnati  again disappoints. This should be a tight game and i am going to call this one 3-2 for the Pirates.

Yes, and I imagine Cueto will be kicking about it.

Any way I can root for the Reds to win while rooting for cueto to give up a couple of dozen earned runs?

Easy - Cueto gives up 7 runs and is knocked out in the third, the Reds rally and win the game anyway. Only bad thing about that is a win like that could give the Reds momentum going into the NLDS. So how about this... Cueto knocked out early, Reds rally to take the lead, Chapman blows the lead in the 9th, and the Reds finally win the game with a run in the top of the 17th inning.

Is it possible for Cueto to take a liner off the kneecap without breaking anything or causing serious injury? Just enough to get carted off the field crying like a baby?

Scratched due to flareup of bone chips in right elbow.  Not out for good, just this turn.

After careful deliberation i officially want the Pirates to win this one.  I'd hate to lose to the Reds.  Cueto, Phillips, Dusty - would be hard to stomach.

You mean you want to miss an opportunity to see Arroyo's leg kick one more time before he leaves Cincy?
Couple of other factors too. Reds will most likely have their 30-yard dash sprinter on post season roster. In a close game late, guess who will be pinch running? Out of the three you mentioned, Baker is the one I want to beat the most. Have always harbored the thought that one day or night, he might swallow that toothpick.
Shirley if the Cards play the Bucs we can get Russell Martin out most of the time in this series. Walker seems to have heated up lately. Hasn't he hit two or three homers over the last 10 games?

I have a thing tonight, so I am going to miss the game.  I will try to keep track of the score as long as my phone battery holds out.

Whoever wins, I hope it goes extra innings with many pitching changes.

Can someone please give updates on this game. Of all things, my cable system here in West Tenn. is in a contract war with Turner Networks and the channels have gone dark. Thanks.

Byrd smoked it over the LF wall. Either a hanger or a high lazy change up. 1-0 Pit in 2nd.

Next hitter lined one to the track in center for an out.  Maybe Cueto isn't fooling them.

Now Martin with a high fly just clears the wall in left center.

Pittsburg fans making a lot of noise..Chanting Cueto, and trying to get to him. Seems to be working. 2-0.

With two outs, Liriano single up the middle, Marte check swing single to RF. Fraser makes a great catch tumbling into the crowd behind third to retire Walker. 2-0 after 2.

Pirates have something going in the 3rd. 1st and 3rd, one out. Baker out to chat. Guy getting up in Reds pen.

Sac fly, McCutcheon comes in, 3-0.

3-0 after 3.

All Cincy can do vs Liriano is hit grounders,

Choo HBP. Ludwick strokes it to LF. Cincy has something going now.

Votto K.

Phillips pop out behind first.

Bruce rbi single to left.  3-1

Frazier just hit one foul, missed the pole by a couple feet.  Then goes down on strikes.

As Cueto takes a breather and bends to reach for the rosin bag he is attacked by a rabid squirrel causing lacerations to the back of his head. The Gray pissed off Rodent then bolts past home plate and into the visitors dug out. wink  Cueto departs behind 3-0 in a game the Reds will eventually lose 4-3 in the 21st inning of a classic. The winning home run is hit by Bill Mazeroski. Sorry was channeling RB for a minute. Karma is an angry lady! coolcoolcool     OVER!

GO CARDS!
