We need to win at least two of three against the Brewers or else the Reds may very well be in first place come Friday night.  I fully expect them to sweep the Cubs.  I also fully expect the Cubs to bear down, play with intensity, and perform like the '27 Yankees the final three games of the season in St. Louis.

Wily Peralta hasn't fared well pitching at Busch Stadium.  He is 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA there.

Works every time.  Well, almost every time.  Didn't see the game myself, I was watching The Big Valley.  Linda Evans - in her prime - as Audra Barkley.  Wowsa!!!

Whenever I watch those old Big Valley episodes, I find myself just staring at Audra.

It's the same thing whenever an old movie is on with Gene Tierney in it. I hardly see the other characters because I stare at her almost through the entire picture.

The guy that made that prediction is the same one that says Wainwright isn't an ace.

Now there's a true ace huh Rat? Talk about an ace with a nice arse...that's Audra? A real "go to girl" if you will. Another Ace from back in the day was Mrs. Post from "Mr. Ed" fame. The horse wasn't the only odd thing that could talk in that show. Mrs. Post used to always wear these kind of baggy sweaters, but even as a 6 year old, you knew what lurked underneath.

The remaining schedule for the rest of the regular '13 season is weak. You just gotta hope the Cardinals take care of business starting tonight against the sub .500 teams.

A guy at the office asked me today if the Cardinals were going to win the division, or get in as a wild card. I told him we'll win the division, based on our remaining schedule.

Now the club needs to go and take care of business. It's all set up for them, so we'll see if they can take advantage of it and close the deal starting this evening.

But you never know how these sub .500 teams will play given they have no pressure and have the motivation to spoil with contending teams. Will be an exciting last couple of weeks.

I love Shelby to death, but I'm not going to get overly excited about him until he learns to successfully ply his trade in hostile waters.

Tom Hallion is a hellion on those called out on strike pitches. The dude is going to pull his shoulder blades out of whack with his antics.
