I'll settle for sweeps against the Pirates and Reds and then winning series after that, but I like you're thinking!

Lynn will get bombed again tonight.  After scoring one run in ten innings last night the Reds offense will be brutal tonight.  This will be about a 9-1 thrashing.  We were fortunate to win one of these four games.

I wouldn't expect any other kind of prediction from you.

It's hard to dispute fact..

LL (Lance Lynn) has been horrid the last 3 starts.....If he makes it to the 5-6th it could be consided a major accomplishment

Surely Yadi will get the day off. Maybe we see Perez's debut.

Robinson and Jackson should start since they missed out on the fun last night.

Like to see an efficient 7 innings from Lance.

Believe it or not, there was a time, years gone by now, when RatsBuddy was a cheerful and optimistic chap. Reading a post from Rat was like being treated to Shirley Temple on the rocks. It seems like just a distant memory now. One could only guess what it was that has hardened Rat into the grumpy man that he is today?

I like our Cards to prevail in this one tonight 6-4 going away, with Lynn logging 6 2/3's strong.

I expect a 3 runs given up game from Lynn. I think we will win 7-4. Anything more than 4 runs allowed by Lynn in 6 innings should make Matheny consider giving his spot to Lyons who pitched very well last night.

What do you consider to be the indisputable fact?  What Rat said is not fact, it is a prediction.

Considering he has made it to the 6th in 7 of his last 8 starts, it would only be the norm.

Also, the Cardinals have scored less than 3 runs in 4 of his last 8 starts.  He would need to be almost perfect to have won most of those games.  His ERA in the first 4 games (of the last 8 starts) was 2.28.  His ERA in the last 4 was 7.66.

Lynn was pushed into the front of the rotation right from the start. He's been the defacto #2 this year and last. I can't see anything to complain about. Next year he should settle into a role with less pressure as Miller becomes a front of rotation guy and Wacha emerges as a regular starter. With Carpenter going down and Wainwright needing much of 2012 to regain form, we would have been in a pickle without Lynn stepping up straight out of the minors.

I thought about posting that question too after clicking the "show post" message, but HH is a hit-and-run kinda guy and won't be back in this thread most likely.

Now, Rat can quote himself tonight, if Lynn falters, trumpeting his all-knowing prediction of Cardinal failure....good for him.

RH Jake Westbrook felt good a day after he threw in the bullpen. Westbrook has been sidelined since Aug. 22 with a strained lower back. He's eligible to come off the DL on Friday. Matheny isn't sure whether he'll use him as a starter - as Westbrook prefers - or out of the bullpen when he returns.

I bet we will see this if Lynn falters tonight.
